It's a bit early to go so deep and I usually give pretty bad advice, but this time is different.

If you're getting married, don't get your parents to pay for it.

My bro is getting married soon, p's are paying and what I'm seeing is not great. It creates a very odd dynamic.

It's a supremely bad idea.

We eloped. Paid for it ourselves. Headache free.
Is it because they think that contributing money buys them a controlling say in how the wedding goes? That's not cool, and it's certainly no gift.
- I think 2/3rds of the guests are my parents' buddies heh. There's a clash about guestlist, food, seating, font on the invitations..
  I think the control will go beyond the wedding. You're not calling enough, coming over for dinner enough etc... which my guess will lead to a bit of resentment and regret.
We paid for our own wedding, and it was the best decision. MIL wanted to pay for it, but that would have meant she runs the show. Sidelining her was very satisfying as she had no control over anything.
- Agreed, footed our own bill. Filled up the wheelbarrow and kid shell pool thing with ice and a thousand bucks of dan murphy's finest merchandise, ordered like 30 pizzas, job done.
I'd say the same even extends to things like houses the way I'm seeing it pan out with a few friends of mine... Sucks because parents are the only way they're able to afford a home
- Mr Peeler would agree. He bought a house with his mum years ago, and it was his home to live in, they lived a couple of suburbs away. She felt it was her right to go in, use her key, no notice or knocking, anytime she damn well pleased. It caused a massive rift which echoes to this day.

Sometimes you've just tried so, so hard, and thought you'd done the best you could, and it still isn't enough... and you're so over it that then there is a flooding of relief when you accept that that's all you can do, and it's okay to rest, and stop trying to work so hard, and refocus.

The HR here can't work out why I won't jump through hoops for a bonus. We're asked to come up with extra things to be doing for more money and when I said "my plate is full and my wage is fine" she got sooo mad.
It's because the boss has no idea what to do, so it's on you now. And if you can't think of something, then you're not doing your job (in boss's eyes).
- So I've got this project planned where I do nothing for a bit, and then I feel a bit better. Also I make sure to take bathroom breaks on the clock.

- Exactly. I had to do the same for team goals for the new financial year. One goal is like 5 minutes of effort that sounds complex.

In breaking news, Miss Meow has investigated under the newly moved microwave cupboard and found no evidence of any remaining fluff. It has been reported that she has made complaints about false advertising and will be obtaining legal advice as to whether she can sue whoever removed the fluff for loss of amentity.

Miss Meow was robbed. She feels violated.
- She still has regular access to stray onion skins, a number of toy mice and other random oddities. I am sure given the amount of hair created in the household there will also be a constant supply of new fluff to play with.

Adult tasks done, time to treat myself to some Baldur's Gate 3 and potato smilies!

Astarion has been throwing it at me the last few rests.
- I've only just started, so I'm not to well acquainted with everyone yet. Had to put off playing because I needed a new SSD, games these days are getting far to big.
- I want Astarion to like me but I don't like being mean. 😭😭😭

I made brownies last night and they turned out pretty good, so I took them into work to share. When my bf messaged me to say he was having a shitty day, I packaged up some of the brownies and they're now traveling via uber to him and I'm SO nervous something will go wrong. IDK. Shhhh, brain, just let yourself do something nice without freaking yourself out!

A while ago I swapped the position of my freezer and microwave cupboard in the kitchen. It was not working out, so this morning I swapped them back again. There has been an alarming amount of fluff and dirt build up underneath them in that time.

My house is similar. It just seems to accumulate crazy amounts of fluff and dust in odd places in an extremely short amount of time. I always feel like if I had a cat, it would occasionally emerge from under some furniture with dust and fluff all over its whiskers.

I've won over $2k USD today. I was annoyingly taxed $572 on a jackpot of $1906 but then immediately won $600 so the IRS can suck it. But that's not the exciting part of today.. LOOK WHAT IS GOING ON AT EXCALIBUR!! I am absolutely going to get a ticket for this.

  Everyone loves them, but I didn't like the Spice Girls at the time. It's not a sexist thing, I hated all those boy bands as well. I hated the machine of pumping out acts of attractive people with average singing talent that was all the rage at the time.
  Those groups gave us Beyonce Knowles, Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake. So they clearly weren't all average talent-wise.
  I missed the legacy the Spice Girls were leaving, inspiring a generation of little girls. So I like them looking back.

I feel totes guilty buying children's clothes to cut up , but I'm making masks for kids so I suppose that makes it ok.

It's a cold for me. Snot and sore throat compliments of the child's school. At least it's not the head lice they sent messages about yesterday.
- I think it's hay fever for me, and colds for the rest of the fam. Generally I don't get headaches from hay fever, but this time around it's pretty gnarly.
Yeah - Mrs brought home some friendly little germs who then decided I would make a great host after treating her like an AirBnB for three days with no regard for getting the deposit back. Not Covid but is a timely reminder that we both probably need to get our boosters done.

Usually hay fever but I get it less now that I’m consistent with my antihistamines. It could also just be the cold, my nose is constantly running in the cold air.

I'm excited guys. I've got a sparky coming out to fix a few things around the joint. One of them was the exhaust fan in the kitchen that decided to shit its self during lockdown so tomorrow I'm going to spend the day cleaning the ceiling and the walls.

This A2 milk is supposed to be better for digestion than regular milk, but I've had an upset stomach ever since I started drinking it. I really expected there to be no difference because I've never had any issues with milk (or any other foods) and regular milk contains A2 proteins as well as A1, so it's not really that big a change. I have three more weeks on this study, the free milk is seeming like less of a bargain at the moment.

No change for me either. Still got bloating and heartburn.
I rarely have cows milk, even lactose free (have had lactose intolerance since I was 8) A2 does a 1L LF bottle, I recently tried it on a whim and I still didn't really feel there was much difference to other LF milks and still felt worse than soy, but that's possibly because my gut has even less tolerance to dairy now after not having it for so long

Inspectors on st Kilda Rd. Got the first guy they spoke to, he said he was getting off next stop. They all followed him off to get his details. Moral of the story is. If you get caught, get off at the next stop and save the rest of Ur tram

I made this mistake many times ordering coffee. Do they have those little milk packets you can pour into the coffee after ordering? It's not the same as an iced latte but that hint of milk taste makes a difference.

My boss is being a real piece of work today. They're coming at me like where's this, where's that, why did you do this (assuming what I did was wrong). Can you possibly just trust for one moment that I know what I am doing and the tasks on my plate are under control? Ok so confession time. I didn't do my exercises today. This morning was a hustle of getting kids out of the door, arguments about why school attendance is required, picking up things Mr Peeler knocked over (he wobbles around with a walking stick and a lot of back pain, also on antibiotics for chest infection). Very busy day at work, lots of busy busy busy type things with pizza bases, potatoes, and all that cleaning which constantly must be done. Then after work trying to cook dinner, having people pop in and stay for over an hour at an awkward time (they were trying to go but the kids wouldn't!), and Mr Peeler deciding he was going to eat something different and in the process accidentally breaking the handles off my 2 main saucepans when he dropped them. He was highly apologetic and angry with himself, and feeling useless. I was remarkably calm about the whole thing. So now I only have a tiny saucepan and a gigantic saucepan left from the set. I didn't have buying saucepans on my bingo card for this week.

Lucky I remembered to put the bins out, usually Mr Ps job but I can't have him wobbling about trying to put overfull bins out and having a fall, which has happened before. He went to the Dr today because he's in such pain and they told him he's on too many tablets as it is, and he can't get a medication review until November.

After I cleaned up the saucepans and accompanying mess, my oldest had a headache related meltdown and my youngest had a meltdown because she wanted to play with her friends longer. Everyone was put to bed a while ago and I'm now in bed thinking and enjoying the quiet, and it's Revenge Bedtime Procrastination. I'll have to do an intense HIIT or something to make up for it all.

Ah bugger, Mr Peeler is in the kitchen deciding to fetch himself some cereal snack. Rustle rustle clink clatter.

No wonder. With all that how are you expected to have any time and energy to yourself to do extra things? Especially with others actively creating more work.
It isn’t even a second shift anymore. It’s just constant multitasking, mental load and full on physical exertion. What’s expected from mums these days is unreasonable.
A pharmacist may also be able to do a tablet review. Their education is massively underutilised as pick packers.

Keyboard still works fine but smells like coffee... 😭 Lately, I just cannot…
