Concern trolling in western media

Every time there's a mention of the Chinese government taking a more active role in their economy, everyone gets their knickers in a twist about how this is supposedly "misguided" and will harm the economy. But you know what? If they really believed that state intervention was detrimental to economic growth, they'd be singing its praises from the rooftops! The fact that they're always wringing their hands in concern just goes to show how much they know it's the superior approach.

And let's not forget that these are the very same publications doing the constant cheerleading for China's downfall and discussions about ways to hobble its economy.

It's almost as if they want everyone to keep buying into the discredited free market ideology while China's central planning system just keeps getting stronger and stronger.

A couple of recent examples:

  • TFW you realise the "real estate crisis" involves:

    • a parasitic property development company mot being bailed out using public money
    • housing prices going down by tightening speculation on housing

then western media wraps this in economic jargon like "bubble bursting" and "housing market collapse" and presents it to its naive readers as some sort of travesty.

    • They wouldve framed it the same way if china rescued the real state companies lmao. China bad no matter what. The problem is that westerners do not think and just swallow whatever crap theyre thrown at.

    • Western chauvanists prefer Western chauvanist explanations, wanting cognitive ease over cognitive dissonance.
    • Capitalists never want proletarians to see AESes states or methods in a favorable light.
    • Decades of effort and billions of dollars were invested to make neoclassical economics hegemonic to the point where there is no alternative. Crowding out classical economics’ progression to Marxian economics was no accident.
    • Cold War II
  • “Please China! Abandon your socialist path and move back to being our imperial subjects. It’s for your own good bc socialism leads to outcomes we don’t think you should like.”

  • Doubles as a "we only wanted to help you" if something happens
