It's not a phase, it's based in reality. Take Vietnam and Iraq for example and the civilian casuilities that came out of that. And oh of course we lied about weapons of mass destruction.
- Or the many, many coups that the USA was directly or indirectly involved in, like in nearly every South and Central American country (Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Nicaragua, Haiti, Panama, etc), or the "humanitarian intervention" of Yugoslavia, or any entry in that very big list of atrocities they committed.
  Just because there are "worse" countries forcefully imposing their wants, that doesn't make USA good, something that other poster fails to acknowledge.
Some people have to believe they're the good guy so badly that they'll kill hundreds of thousands of people to prove it.
