If a regular citizen had a taser at airport security, they would have been held as a terrorist.
- This is not true. C'mon. I hate Gaetz's guts. But it's not like he was wielding it at security.
  People can transport weapons via checked in luggage. It wouldn't be uncommon for some distracted packer to put it in their carryon - at which point the person would be stopped and told "you can either dispose of it, or not enter the secure area. Your choice."

  This is not true either. My boss accidentally had a bullet in his bag. No gun or anything to actually use it and they held him and threatened to arrest him. He's white btw.

So I've spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking "why are all these people so clueless!?" when their weapons are found at TSA etc, but JUST NOW I realized it's because they are usually waived through.
