Been relaxing this weekend. Time to hit the job search full time again next week. Here we go!!! Something will come through now that everyone is back hopefully.

In other news, I'm playing guitar for my friends spoken word performance. It's been really interesting writing music to that instead of making songs.

Just cold enough for a fire so I've lit one and am in the process of burning various stuff too sensitive to go into the recycling bin.
The cats are ecstatic, the little heat hogs.

About to shave my beard off for the first time in years, being sick has made it go all weird and brittle and it's massively irritating my skin so it's got to go. At least I can't go anywhere so no one has see me without it since it'll grow semi back by the end of the week.

I have a pretty sore back. 😭 Will put on my comfyest PJs, take drugs and watch a million movies over the next few days

  Two new ones were listed in the last two days so I don't think this year is going to be anomalous.

I drew a thing and it looked like a thing. Nice. I could learn to art so well if I could just focus. If only you had regular manageable dailies and could see skill points racking up in real life.

- thanks, I'm pretty chuffed. The front seam looks like it's on the same point, but that's aesthetic only on the front - the back is a full on crossover to prevent weak spots. My years of lego have taught me well.

Study success! First draft has been completed. I'm going to have a break for lunch, walk Mr Woof (always a great way to let my brain rest and quietly process things in the background) and have another look at it later this afternoon before submitting it. I even have a sensible number of words, there is only one section that will require much trimming.

Ugh. I fed the catkin at 6pm and napped, woke up at midnight to see she hadn't eaten her food and so hadn't taken her medication.

Removed it and gave her half of her usual dose to tide her over til 6am (mixed into some of her old Fancy Feast Royale) and she ate it. So she just suddenly doesn't like the particular flavour that makes up half the stash of food I bought and it's messing with her meds schedule. She started getting sooky, went between different trays and had the runs so she may have stress induced cystitis. I gave her some anti inflammatory pain meds to help. Also tried to give the other half of the usual pain meds but she won't eat it.

If she keeps this fussy eating up she's going to need her medication syringed into her mouth twice daily to ensure she gets it instead of doing it the easy way :(

I'd also taken her off the Zylkene to see if it actually does anything or whether the cost of that would be better off going to monthly Solensia injections. Jury is out on the Zylkene but she's seeming a bit stiff and I think she would really benefit from the injections.

Edit: She just squatted on the carpet and I wasn't fast enough to get a towel under her. Blood, definitely the cystitis. I've blotted it up, soaked the spot with enzyme spray and have a few towels ready in case I need to save the bedding. Heating her tiny wheat bag for her tummy. We're snorgling now

- I've dosed her with her normal pain med and the NSAID this morning before breakfast, some ended up on the sheets but fingers crossed it manages things

Anyways, it's my dad's 70th birthday tomorrow but we're doing dinner tonight. On brand for me, I'm about to go and buy him a gift today at the last minute. Going to get him a Ring doorbell and chime, and I'll pay for a year of the subscription service for him. He has been talking about getting one for years.

I shouldn't be contagious anymore I think with my COVID but I'm wondering if I should mask up anyway. Hmm.

At the risk of being 'that person' you should probably be sure you're no longer contagious. It'd be rough to have at 70. And it's never a bad idea to mask up.

I realised that Chrome now has a time setting when you clear cookies, and I had to change that.

Had a weird suspicion but tonights dinner of beef and vegetable soup confirmed it, all warm/hot food since catching covid tastes really spicy to me... While I like spicy food, having every meal be spicy is going to get old quickly, especially as I transition back to solids (yay ulcers finally healing!).

If everything seems spicy what happens when you eat spicy food?
- I'm not sure, but I'll let you know once I can have spicy food again. I'll also add lots of sweet foods taste waxy at the moment as well, which is strange.
I believe it's really common to have things taste/smell wrong for a while as your senses return - something to do with your brain having to relearn what some smells actually are and getting it wrong. Spicy does not sound too bad, the most common is to have things taste/smell foul or rotten.
- Yeah would much rather everything taste like it's been seasoned to resemble lava than it tasting like I picked it out of a bin.
What an odd symptom. Can't say I had that one! I was actually trying to eat as much spicy stuff as I could when I lost my taste/smell to try and taste something.
- I would give anything to be able to eat a curry laksa but not experience the spiciness of it.
  I have a very low tolerance to spicy foods :(
- I've googled and can't find anything about it so I'm semi thinking it might be a mixture of covid and my ulcer meds doing a number on my taste buds.

Ok, dog has been walked. Breakfast has been consumed. I will now sit down and do the work on my assignment that should have been done yesterday. I may need to tie myself to the chair, because my brain is already starting to come up with other things to do instead.

I wouldn't have thought that a Volvo with some age on it was much of a target for joy riders, so maybe was nicked to order or for spare parts? The recent spate of thefts makes me think that someone has recently moved in to the area and has identified all the 'soft targets'.
- I'm wondering that myself. Intruders and theft, especially from cars, is an ongoing issue but this is ridiculous.

Not a good weekend for dye. First the skirt I bought specifically to emblacken ended up not being all cotton so it’ now has stupid teal stripes, then my hair turned out rather insipid. Best not attempt eyebrows, I might turn into Spock.

I just use those mascara style brow dyes. Isn't dark and it's temporary.
- I usually use actual mascara, but have this thing to try. Another day.

Was up with Melbcat last night and fell asleep with the light on... My bills -_-

FYI Coles currently has half price on a bunch of Rexona deodorants (lowest are priced at $2.75 and $4). Debating it... A few of the scents would give me a headache. There's an 'invisible pure' roll on that might be less smelly but all of the ones that claim not to leave white marks suck. But the deodorants not on sale are $4.50 or $5 at the lowest and $8.50 at the highest. Wtf.

Oh well. Guess I try the least worst sounding roll on for science and report back in the 'What's Good At Coles' thread when it drops.

The special for 2 bags of brand kitty litter is on again so I might grab it. It works out about the same as the generic Woolies litter and with Coles I managed to get a $2 delivery slot. (I alternate depending what I need)

I have a real problem with deodorants but I never used to, it seems to be a recent thing (peri menopause becoming regular menopause? It's the only thing that's changed with me). All those "natural" deodorants (think Sukin, body shop etc) give me a rash or something that looks like a horrible graze. The Nivea one I'm using is ok but it smells like I'm being smacked in the head with a toilet cleaner. The Dove roll ons are okay but they don't seem to be long lasting. Let me know what you've found!
- Yeah, I've long given up on natural deodorants. The culprit is likely bicarb soda, essential oils, or alcohol. All are irritants.
  With the Rexona I ordered one of the 'pure' (which still has fragrance) and one of the men's scent to let's see whether they're any good.
- Round about menopause I gave up on women's antiperspirants. I now get the Aldi mens 48 hour sport one. Effective, not highly perfumed, dries quickly and doesn't irritate me except for the day after shaving the pits. So I go without deo on that day and most weekends.
  You have to remember that it's not the armpit that smells as such, it's the accumulated dead bacteria that clings to the hairs/skin folds. Daily wash with soap is essential, but deo as such may not be. I really only use deo on work days where I won't be able to wash if I get sweaty and smelly - like riding my bike to work and back.

Some porridge with no sugar or honey and that hasn't got added salt please. Mr P made us porridge this morning and he puts salt in it?
