Any justice system is well adapted to how society was in the near past.

There could be improvements, a major overhaul of the sentencing scale for example. Over the years there have been increased sentences for some crimes but not others which can create funny technicalities that if you threaten someone with a weapon you get a lesser sentence than just handling an illegal weapon.

Over all it's good, not excellent.

*In a news article, or a political speech try switching the word man/woman black/white immigrant etc for their opposite. Some of them sound absolutely absurd when you do.

You may be doing him a disservice.

Let him face his challenges on his own, but be there and support him if things go wrong. The later he is forced to learn how to deal with things like this the harder it will be.
