  • Actually, there's lots of FOSS software which is at least just as good as proprietary. Most FOSS lacks the support of proprietary though. And I don't mean the "call someone on the other end of the world" support, I mean manuals, tutorials and stuff like that. /Off topic

On topic: Apache, Git, Home Assistant and Jellyfin.

  • Yes. I mostly support whatever charity that comes door to door, except some big ones who won't take money but try to reel you into a monthly plan. I also support some Ukrainian artists on Patreon. And I support organizations like doctors without borders if they're in the news, especially when the right wingers start spewing their "what about me" rhetoric.

  • I totally believe this. We see it here in the Netherlands (and other EU countries) for all big tech companies, they'll build some big energy hogging thing, and then buy up all the renewable energy certificates from the market. The general public then ofcourse needs fossil fuels for their energy demand, but that's beside the point.

  • Quantum computing has been around the corner for years already. Some time after the crypto boom of 2017/18 you could read articles about how crypto was going to be dead by 2025 because of quantum computers hacking the block chain with ease. Still waiting for that one.

  • A mixture of: 15.08% plutonium, 18.06% tantalum, 27.71% xenon, 24.02% promethium, 10.62% dialium, 3.94% mercury, 0.57% an unknown element not found on the known periodic table. You could use tar instead.
