That's a great way to describe the show. I can't believe so many people desire to go back and watch it. Fun fact, I only know what was missing because my little brother bought me the original collection for Xmas when it came out, but he forgot to give it to me until the following Xmas so that he could watch them all.
The official release was missing all or most of the music video segments, which constituted a large part of the show. They also tended to be the most entertaining part IMO.
This is a tough one, because to me "ricing" or "riced out" carries additional negative undertones (racism aside). I have always heard it used in a way implying that it was referencing enhancements done in a cheap or gaudy/classless way. Think of the most Razer-like LED adorned gaming PC setup, that could have easily been described as being "riced up".
I think the phrase "decked out" works OK, and seems to also lack the negative connotation, which may or not be in line with the goal here.
Also, seeing your example ideas you shot down, I am not sure you full understand "souping up" phrase. The term "souped up" has been in use for over a century and I still hear people use it pretty frequently. It is generally meant to imply something has been made faster or more powerful, frequently with cars, and probably why some people argue it is a shortened version of supercharged. I agree that it probably isn't a good fit here, but not being of how it sounds.
You'd certainly know if you did. As a kid whose many-times-stupid parent actually washed their mouth out with soap for cursing, I know for a fact that it tastes like soap to me.
It makes total sense as all the right leaning people already hated Biden, and he disillusioned many on the left. Trump never lost support of his mouth frothing racist morons.
Maybe the Oblivion intro feels more memorable because the rest of the games was such a step down from Morrowind in a lot of ways. Skyrim, for all its continued dumbing down of Elder Scrolls, was a well made fun game. And you got to be the main character again!
I did try out hipchat when looking for a Slack replacement and... it did not get chosen for a reason heh. Crazy as it is, we still use Skype for meetings because our CEO and his also-a-CEO brother refuse switch as they just barely understand Skype.
Obviously there is only a single Slack app, it was a common sarcastic phrase. What it implied is that your experience differs so wildly to mine and many others that there must be some other secret Slack app that one of us got :)
And it wasn't just "more useless features" that happened after the buyout, though that definitely happened. It was things like the forcing of the free pro trial to try to push people into using said new useless features (we had been saving the trial to be able to export the full chat history when we left) and all the new fun bugs related to all the new features. Also, they loved moving around the UI, adding and removing things, etc. It got bad enough that I had to stop using the native client and use a web browser and use extensions to modify the page payout to get it back to how I liked it.
I guess I was very aware of these issues because I use a lot of different chat applications and I see all the places that they should have been doing better. I had already trialed several other options (hipchat, mattermost, google chat, ms teams, matrix/element, whatever zoho's chat was called), but was sticking with it because moving your company to a new platform is a huge hassle and I knew would likely not get another chance to do it if I chose poorly. In case you're wondering, we eventually went with Matrix/Element because it was finally good enough and was the most private as long as you have the infrastructure to host.
Also, Discord is the most vile POS chat service I have ever used and I refuse to ever use it again. It is disappointing how popular it is and how many of my friends use it.
You must have used a different Slack than I did. It was much heavier than a simply chat app should be and it always had annoying, but rarely game breaking, issues. When Salesforce bought them the enshittification began in earnest and it quickly went further downhill. Luckily, due to said downhill turn I was able to get my company to stop using Slack altogether.
Sadly true, but if you're already stuck with one of these TVs like me, you should know that you can get flawless knockoff remotes online in two packs super cheap.
Lots of good responses in this thread so far, but I keep thinking of the newest Gibson trilogy with regards to "the jackpot" where the majority of the population dies from a series of "not quite the big one" pandemics and climate issues and society is taken over by the kleptocracy. I love Gibson's books, but I wish he would stop accurately predicting our demise.
Unless it is trying to actually look cool like "cool retro terminal" or something, I fail to see how the point. I don't recall ever in the history of my terminal use ever thinking "man, this terminal emulator is so slow!" I mean, really... 120fps 4k terminals. Neat I guess?
I'd also like to know what model tablet OP is using, or what anyone else has been having success with.
