  • France, 30s, and I almost always drove manual transmissions. But I rent an automatic, and now I don't understand why manual cars still exist.

  • I agree.

  • Almost all Deus Ex soundtrack, and maybe the Synapse level was the best of them.

  • France is far from a worker's paradise:

    • The last time a slightly leftist government was elected was in 1981, and they turned neoliberal in 1983. Since then, worker's right are fought by successive governments.
    • And successfully so: the last time a national worker's movement won anything was in 1995 (in 2006 there was a student's victory though).
    • Only 10% of the workers are in an Union, same as in the US.

However, it's not a hell neither:

    • French work 1511 hours by year, indeed under the OECD average (1751) or the Americans (1810) but higher than Germans (1340) who have the reputation to be workaholics.

The reputation is however not without basis:

    • French have the highest number of strike days by year for 1000 workers (114), far more than Americans (6). But iy should be noted that not everyone strikes in France, generally the civil servants or employees of State owned firms strike for the others. I did not found the exact number, but for private firms' employees, the number of strike days on average will be far lesser than 114 (but probably more that 6 ^^). And these hours are not paid, thus a lowering of quality of life.
  • If only…

  • You still believe in free market? The rules are rigged in favour of shareholders, ethical solutions can't thrive in this system. America is not free market at all.

  • It was an answer to Mycoolnejm, not to you ^^

  • Are you forced to take a plane at gunpoint?

Logical solution to this is to use your own means of transportation in order to be sure to be alone if you don't like children. You can still take a plane if you really want to, but use your own plane. I don't get the reason to take public means of transportation, since there will always be other people in them anyway.

  • Gemini (or things like that) is a part of the solution. We unfortunately need to create spaces outside the WWW…

  • They can possibly park otherwise, so they are responsible.

  • I never said stop blocks are a bad thing. I just say that, if you don't give a shit about others enough to just check if you correctly parked, you're an asshole.

  • Randomly typed letters made Zloubida think of some famous (and ridiculous) French song, thus Zloubida thought fun to choose this word as user name.

  • They are. And even if it wasn't the case, their lack is not an excuse; if an intersection has no clear priority sign, it doesn't give drivers the right to pass as they want.

  • Try to walk on this this kind of sidewalk with a stroller and a walking child and you'll understand why it is serious. Or try to pass it in a wheelchair.

  • It's always some other's fault, isn't it? No, it's not. They're the drivers.

They drive a heavy machine, like you said, so they should act like it. Be responsible. Always double check. Be respectful and prudent.

Stop blocks are good things, sure, but their existence is not an excuse to park recklessly.

  • To try to park all the way in is an asshole move.

  • Sometimes I'm badly parked, and I understand it only when I leave my car. It's normal, you're right.

But you know what's not normal? To stay badly parked. It doesn't cost much time to start the car again to move it backward a little…

  • It depends on the type of game you play. Most problems occur with online games, the vast majority of single player games, even AAA, works on Linux, notably with Steam.

  • Mein elsässischer Arsch: Trauma ausgelöst

  • At least not without warning. I begun with Manjaro and am very happy with it, so much it's still my main OS maybe 5 years later, but I'm happy I was warned and read a few things beforehand.
