The last time a slightly leftist government was elected was in 1981, and they turned neoliberal in 1983. Since then, worker's right are fought by successive governments.
And successfully so: the last time a national worker's movement won anything was in 1995 (in 2006 there was a student's victory though).
Only 10% of the workers are in an Union, same as in the US.
However, it's not a hell neither:
French work 1511 hours by year, indeed under the OECD average (1751) or the Americans (1810) but higher than Germans (1340) who have the reputation to be workaholics.
The reputation is however not without basis:
French have the highest number of strike days by year for 1000 workers (114), far more than Americans (6). But iy should be noted that not everyone strikes in France, generally the civil servants or employees of State owned firms strike for the others. I did not found the exact number, but for private firms' employees, the number of strike days on average will be far lesser than 114 (but probably more that 6 ^^). And these hours are not paid, thus a lowering of quality of life.
You still believe in free market? The rules are rigged in favour of shareholders, ethical solutions can't thrive in this system. America is not free market at all.
Logical solution to this is to use your own means of transportation in order to be sure to be alone if you don't like children. You can still take a plane if you really want to, but use your own plane. I don't get the reason to take public means of transportation, since there will always be other people in them anyway.
I never said stop blocks are a bad thing. I just say that, if you don't give a shit about others enough to just check if you correctly parked, you're an asshole.
They are. And even if it wasn't the case, their lack is not an excuse; if an intersection has no clear priority sign, it doesn't give drivers the right to pass as they want.
Try to walk on this this kind of sidewalk with a stroller and a walking child and you'll understand why it is serious. Or try to pass it in a wheelchair.
It depends on the type of game you play. Most problems occur with online games, the vast majority of single player games, even AAA, works on Linux, notably with Steam.
At least not without warning. I begun with Manjaro and am very happy with it, so much it's still my main OS maybe 5 years later, but I'm happy I was warned and read a few things beforehand.
France, 30s, and I almost always drove manual transmissions. But I rent an automatic, and now I don't understand why manual cars still exist.
