  • People only read the headline /smh

China is moving forward with a variety of investment and infrastructure projects in Central Asia designed to boost exports to the region and beyond.

In Uzbekistan, Chinese executives are seeking to tighten their grip on the electric vehicle market. The Chinese firm Henan Suda signed a deal earlier in December with Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry to build upwards of 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations around the country by 2033. Already in 2024, 2,500 charging stations are to be constructed. The project is projected to serve about 700,000 electric vehicles when fully built-out. During the first 10 months of 2023, China exported over 20,000 electric vehicles to Uzbekistan.

This is more like they want to export more ev so they build more stations/infrastructures.

  • An alternative to Kubuntu is TuxedoOS (similar to PopOS (Gnome) but for KDE). You can also try KDE Neon.

You can use VM to install and try new distro, worst case you make a new VM and start again.

For learning, if it was me I would just roll with Arch, using distro like Garuda that has BTRFS rollback or even EndeavourOS. A fuck up can be saved from BTRFS rollback, back up dual boost or 2nd pc.

  • China, Laos, and Vietnam: now notoriously capitalists. Workers work 12+ hours with no protection in horrible factory conditions. Suicide rates are so high that suicide nets are installed. The air is so polluted millions die from lung cancer, especially factory workers w/out basic masks. Corporations dominate

Which news lead you to this? 20 years ago?

at least tensions will end really soon when gaza is wiped. maybe a new start for everyone on both sides...if you >survive.

funniest shit here is the whataboutism all the time.

Quoting so people later know what garbage were said.

  • Israel prepares for possible ground assault in Gaza as war deaths mount | AP News

Palestinian residents of the city of Beit Lahiya in the northern region of the Gaza Strip said Thursday that Israeli planes dropped flyers warning them to evacuate their homes and to head to "known shelters."

"Anyone who is near Hamas terrorists will put their lives in danger," the flyers said. "Adhering to IDF instructions will prevent you from being exposed to danger."

The area had already been heavily struck by the time the flyers were dropped. Shelters in the Gaza Strip are not safe from airstrikes — the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees has seen 10 of its shelters struck since the start of the operation.

Palestinians living the pummeled Strip have said that the military often has not alerted them before striking homes, or will alert them but not with enough time to evacuate before their homes are struck. Israeli defense officials have said that they attempt to provide warning before strikes.

Tell the civilians to come to shelters. Fucking strike shelters anyway. Fuck israeli.
