  • It's such a crappy situation that there's no way he could win. Anything other than siding with Israel would lead to claims of anti-semitism and criticism from the very powerful Isreal lobby, not to mention Republicans. A more nuanced position would be better, sure, but I don't know how politically feasible it is in the US. We can definitely criticize Biden but "Genocide Joe" always strikes as stupid especially since it's bashing Biden at a time when making him less popular would give us Genocide Donald, who would clearly be so much worse.

  • Hell yeah. I loved Fantasy Zone II.

  • It would be pretty difficult to do that considering the US government has been giving Israel billions a year in aid a long time before Joe Biden was President, and the vast majority of other US politicians support Israel as well. But sure, blame it on Biden I guess, maybe we can elect Trump, who will probably be asking his staff "why can't we just kill all the Palestinians with the nuclear?"

  • As far as I can figure out, maybe a Siberian. Maine Coons are usually pretty big and this was just a cute little cat. He/she/cat followed me around the store for a while and it was pretty much the best experience I've ever had grocery shopping.

  • That's not really what US license plates look like though... the shape, yeah, but not the lettering shape and size (nevermind that it appears to be in Klingon).

  • Cat seems pretty happy to be around all that milk! It's in a Chinese supermarket in the US. Of course they also have a lot of products from SE Asia, so I'm not sure... looks like the one on the right has a Vietnamese name. The pic I posted yesterday has the cat standing directly on top of the stack of milk.

  • It was already happening in places with severe abortion restrictions like El Salvador:

    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/salvadoran-women-jailed-decades-miscarriages-stillbirths-warn-us-abort-rcna33035
    https://theconversation.com/el-salvadors-abortion-ban-jails-women-for-miscarriages-and-stillbirths-now-one-womans-family-seeks-international-justice-156484

The abortion ban is so broadly enforced that even women who suffer miscarriages and stillbirths can be prosecuted for murder. Now an international court will decide for the first time whether these laws violate the human rights of Salvadoran women.

Hmm... the US is a member of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and signed but never ratified the treaty. Great. The court did actually determine that El Salvador needed to change their policies, which were basically the same as the ones the Christian Fascists have come up with in Texas, Ohio, etc.

  • police removed her toilet from her home and searched it

Everything about this is insane and exactly what sensible people thought would happen.

  • That is one method that has been used recently… they drill a hole and connect to a serial port or something.

  • You can see cars on the other side going the same direction though.

  • Someone had a little too much whiskey.

  • I recommend the Sweet Cow brand.

  • Happens all the time with my ex who I still talk to. She’ll go on these annoying rants about someone she’s dealing with and it’s obvious to me that she’s in the wrong, but won’t listen to anything I say about it. She fixates on these pointless details that have nothing to do with her true motivations. Super annoying when she’s in one of those moods.

  • para-government tech companies are working as hard on that as possible, it will be soon. It doesn't even matter if it really works, they'll just say it does.

  • I love the bank system of charging you extra money for being broke. Have they capped overdraft fees yet or addressed how they run charges from highest to lowest to maximize fees?

  • “They don’t like it when we tell them that. That the smartest people support Trump”

  • “They don’t like it when I said that” is one of an entire genre of Trump “they” statements. Goes along with “they like to use that word” and other claims about “they”.

  • I remember after 9/11 I took a flight out of Minneapolis and there were security/police/whatever with automatic rifles. Pretty surprising as I'd never seen anything like that in the US.

  • My family went to Tijuana when I was about 5. My brother and I saw an unconscious/dead person being dragged into an alley and were 'wtf?'. My parents just said uh, nevermind about that.

  • Not too suave. Pretty sure "I'll dick you down" isn't going to work on most 36 year old ladies on tinder, especially in a transactional manner they could get fired for.
