That’s the entire point of the phrase, as far as how I’ve always interpreted it: don’t blame people for doing what’s best for them within a system they don’t control.
Huh, so they might do that in some places. What I meant is that I'm not familiar with them doing things like operating comparable stores in the same area. I guess I recall QFC vs. Fred Meyer from when I lived in Portland, and QFCs were small while Fred Meyers is set up like Target - large selection of non grocery items, and huge stores. In Colorado they have City Markets (small) and King Soopers (large) but City Market is up in small towns in the mountains and Western Slope, none in Denver, and King Soopers is all over Denver, none afaik in the smaller cities.
Kroger typically just operates one chain per region, which was a local chain they bought out for expansion. They don’t have multiple stores in an area that compete with each other or have different names.
I mean, no shit. He’s basically running as an incumbent as far as advantage and the rest of the field isn’t very impressive. Are you rooting for him to win or just complaining about media coverage?
”This order is simply more communist persecution of a supporter of President Trump and a follower of Jesus Christ.”
Back in reality, he was being investigated for his unhinged statements and other complaints with the potential for disbarment in Georgia, and asked the bar there to “retire” his license. They close the investigations and said sure, and you can’t practice law here or anywhere else. Colorado is following the practice of their federal courts, that he’s not allowed to practice law in CO as he’s not in good standing in other jurisdictions.
It's natural for him. He couldn't read a speech and sound good at all, and he sure as hell couldn't talk about policy for a couple hours. The content of what he says is jingoistic, self-aggrandizing, vindictive, often nonsensical and generally awful, but that works great for his target audience, who have been raised on pastors saying nonsensical crap and outlets like Fox who were talking nasty nonsense years before Trump was a politician.
They change prices per-customer to see how much they can get you to pay. It’s obviously maddening because you don’t want to ever order at the high rate, so there are times I just don’t buy things and wait. I had a similar experience with biscuit mix.
It works great when people have it on autopay and are paying without consuming any services, or they make it a giant pain in the ass to unsubscribe and people put it off.
Travellers are being told to avoid isolated locations like hotel rooms.
Criminals use the apps to lure victims to public spaces like restaurants and bars, where they can be assaulted,
The wall was a very unrealistic idea all along, so of course it wasn't built. Trump didn't care. It was a campaign device and a grift. The border is huge, and it would take a very long time to build a permanent wall, plus the funding - anyone with an IQ over room temp knew "Mexico will pay for it" was absurd.
But sure, I can't imagine Muslims wanting to vote for Biden either. But considering Trump is an out-and-out racist asshole, well, great. As for most of the rest of the country there are no good choices here.
I agree, I've said that about this phrase before! I can hate the player too. Not one of my favorite maxims.
