  • I read this as melanin and it was even more confusing.

  • That’s not at all what the Maher article says. She said she wasn’t coerced, not that they didn’t have sex. It’s also not the point of the trial.

  • I believe it’s a reference to the problems caused by the fucked up abortion laws going on recently, not about payment (though that’s its own concern). From a quick search:

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/apr/19/pregnant-women-denied-care-us-hospitals

One woman miscarried in the restroom lobby of a Texas emergency room as front desk staff refused to admit her to the hospital.

Another related issue is that rural areas, especially in right wing hellholes that have passed such laws, are increasingly short on access to obestrician services and doctors of that specialty. Some people who used to live 40 miles from the nearest hospital with Ob/Gyn now live 100 miles away and lack transportation.

  • I feel like this got misinterpreted? If I’m not mistaken OP’s point is that reddit is intentionally censoring pro-Palestinian posts and controversy, not that the front page is now more quality.

  • They’ve had this for a while. The cheat code is to change the url to old reddit.

  • Seems pretty unlikely they'd be the only country involved.

  • Sure, I get that. The whole thing is that they imitate legitimate accounts.

  • No, the conclusion would be that they're replying to me. However I'm quite certain Americans like that exist as well.

  • It's taken me years and reading the explanations a dozen times to figure out what anyone involved even thought it was about.

  • I've been using reddit since 2008 and the idea of any conservative bullshit on there would have been really surprising before 2015. Overall though the amount of generic person stupidity has increased in the past few years. Not that all sports fans are like this, but often i get the stupidest reply from someone - like, close minded, blithely cruel about whatever topic - and look at their profile and the ONLY other thing they've commented on is sports.

  • I highly doubt most of the protestors have anything to do with being funded by outside groups, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the dissent has been sponsored by foreign propaganda/influence efforts. Russia definitely wants Trump to be elected over Biden, and also will do anything they can to cause division here.

  • He'd be disappointed if he found out they hadn't cheated.

  • Since the excerpt here is cut off,

In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the former president said he would accept the results of the November election showing he lost "if everything's honest."

"If everything's honest, I'd gladly accept the results," Trump said in an interview Wednesday. "If it's not, you have to fight for the right of the country.

"But if everything's honest, which we anticipate it will be — a lot of changes have been made over the last few years — but if everything's honest, I will absolutely accept the results," he said.

So in trump terms, honest = he wins, dishonest means he didn't.

  • Taking his public statements at face value sure is not “fearmongering”. This deranged grandpa is often cited for “telling it like it is!!” so why would we not believe he means specifically what he says?

Russia being a threat to Europe isn’t exactly surprising considering that threat is the entire reason NATO exists.

  • He would leave NATO as soon as possible. No normal politician has ever suggested this before because it's completely insane. It's obvious Putin bullshit since it's 100% against the best interests of the US and Europe, and only benefits Russia. It's also a distortion that the EU doesn't fund their part in NATO... a few countries spend less than they should, the rest are perfectly fine on that metric.

  • Great, a really pathetic Biden hit piece. Written by

Chris Jeffries Ph.D. Rocket Surgeon & Aspiring Troglodyte

I'm happy to report he made it on the latter aspiration.

  • It’s attributed to John Maynard Keynes.
