  • Statement comes from Syrian state media and is corroborated by the flight path of passenger airliner IRM146 (took off from Tehran heading towards Damascus, turned around minutes before landing at Damascus and seems to have landed back in Tehran).

  • Isn't it a good thing that there's surplus homes? The principle of single home ownership is outdated in a reality where vacation homes exist, transportation between cities is fast and inexpensive, and family may live a few hours away from you.

It's certainly much better than the housing crunch Canada is going through.

  • I can allege that Hamas actually has the Ark of the Covenant stored in a Gazan residential tower. Doesn't make it true, nor worth writing an article about.

The role of journalists isn't to spread "allegations," it's to find facts.

  • CNN was showing video coverage of the event where armed men (festival security? IDF?) were leading festivalgoers away at the start of the Hamas attack. There also appeared to be an armoured vehicle in the background.

I can't find the long form of the video that was shown, but the short form does show a vehicle with the Merkava's characteristic chain and ball design on the turret in the background. It's on CNN's YouTube page and I'll send it to people by request, but it's rather graphic so I'd rather not link it.

  • Have we gotten any confirmation that there were armed personnel at the rave or that there was a tank at the rave? Videos are circulating (from CNN) showing people with guns herding the ravers to safety and there are videos showing the back of an armoured vehicle (Merkava?) at the site.

  • Anadolu is operated by the Turkish state, which has normalized relations with Israel recently.

i24 news has been the source of the claim that Business Insider is quoting. i24 has reported outright lies using "IDF sources" before:

The official Twitter account of the Israeli Defense Force posted a tweet in Hebrew which claimed that their fighters recently (August 9, 2021) identified a suspicious woman who pulled out a knife and tried to stab an IDF fighter. Upon further investigation, it was found that the image was used even earlier on 13 February 2018 on an Arabic news site along with a similar story, as seen below.
