  • Now I’m reading items that state this is Heritage groundwork for routing out the liberal elite, eventually. Starting with this, context just a distraction.

Maybe. As a side effect. I still think it’s likely about squelching protests that may gain momentum. Again though, context as a distraction.

  • How is that a boomer complaint? It’s basic. Microsoft Word should be buy once for 3 computers, as it always was until subs took over.

We can’t even read the news anymore without a sub.

I like the use of the word rent for this.

  • It’s 3 political parties. What you said. Peter Theil and cronies using tech, AI, and the worldwide data collection to influence world thinking, instead of politics, with the lovely side effect being an erasure of privacy. And the ever-present shrieking religious minority that is Heritage Foundation.

High odds that middle one affects you as well, but at least your government isn’t in bed with Peter Theil. Vance is even his purchased boy.

  • I don’t understand why there’s any crackdown on any of this. Not liking a war is kinda traditional around here. Or was.

Maybe that’s it. Maybe they’re planning another unpopular war and this is the preliminary work.

  • What’s galling is the standard format response is: why are we feeding people over there when we have hungry kids right here?

While fighting school lunches, cutting SNAP, and gutting American food banks. This government will never spend USAID money to feed the American people.

High odds the feed our own argument will persist regardless.

  • Part of classical studies back in college was mention of the common presence of “the housekeeper” in Roman Catholic clergy households. It was a well known secret they were more than housekeepers. I forget when, but at some point in history it became faux pas and the church started enforcing celibacy.

  • Carpenters Firemen Coal miners (they still exist) Doctors Nurses Respiratory therapists Nursing assistants Hobby woodworkers Body shop / mechanics Masons Painters Farmers Homeowners working on pre 1970 houses Contractors in general Paramedics Boatwrights EMTs Exterminators

All of these people risk injury, chronic illness, and death without proper gear and regulation. I’m sure I missed some people, this is just off the top of my head.
