  • I already posted but since I had to Google what a broccoli cut is, I felt the need to link something for old people like myself.

That said, these all look the same to me. It’s 35 pics of the same thing. It needs an extended Office Pam meme that spans pages. More fascinating, the article stated this hair involves actual perms. Perms. The 80s are back.

  • Psych has many areas of study. Psychobiology, psycholinguistics, behaviorism, cog sci, borderline philosophy, defunct hx lessons in Freud and company, etc.

Cognitive science and behavioral economics have a fairly large overlap on a Venn diagram. There are also dual discipline individuals engaged in both mathematics and psychology.

Practical application and experimentation depend on what flavor of psych you’re engaging with. Dennet or even Pinker are going to read and be applied differently than, say, Kahneman & Tversky.

Vs, say, someone like Elizabeth Loftus back in the repressed memory explosion of the 90s.

How each area can intersect with experimentation is going to vary.

All of that said, who wasn’t fascinated by the idea of Asimov’s Hari Sheldon? I devoured those books in my youth.

  • That’s like asking people to wash their recycling. Only 10% at most are going to sort and wash the trash.

One stop shopping with easy to find and easy free shipping and easy, free returns. That’s where we live now. So, Amazon or Walmart.

  • Except he has this thing where he acts like the unseen person in high school who was just noticed by the popular crowd when people he perceived as important or popular notice him: Elon, Saudi Arabian princes, Putin, etc

We The People hold no such sway.

  • Trump is waxing and waning. The man is 80 and looking quite unhealthy. When geriatrics start to wax and wane there are recognizable patterns but it can vary a bit by personality. Biden and Trump are the same in that respect.

What waxing and waning means is you can have a perfectly normal exchange with Biden on day 1 and on day 2 get the debate performance and on day 3 get perfectly normal again. Inertia and habit carries people a lot further and longer than you think, depending on what they spent most of their lives doing. It’s not uncommon to have career domination in this inertia.

I suspect Trump will look much more odd and awkward than Biden going forward.

High odds it’s one reason Elon is with him and the interview isn’t solo, so Elon can be a handler of sorts and talk over him rather than having Trumps Biden moments on full, singular focus. One of the other reasons, ofc, is to maintain this idea that they are the same person in power, to keep that tight association going.

My personal theory with zero hard evidence to back it is that Trump does his disengagement thing when his internal pacemaker with defibrillator zaps him. And that he’d be dead already without it.

  • Linux isn’t terrible.

There’s hiccups though. Example. Partner recently redid his chrome book. Wiped it, added some bits, added a Linux setup specific to chromebook hardware.

    Earbud pairing: inconsistent.

Little things like that which are normally automatic often require some troubleshooting with Linux. Also Linux: there’s always a patch or fix somewhere.

Mostly though, it’s pretty good. And your machines run better because all the home phone bloat and trash is removed.

  • Or we could tax people who make over $400k/yr. More so if you make over $10million (didn’t Warren have a plan for that at one point?).

Instead of cutting everything people who make less than $150k/yr rely on.
