  • Greedland is great on deck

  • You'd have to try hard to do it without a pc, since it's a pc itself.

  • The only reason I'm still using Canonical's bullshit after they tried to kill Unity, tried to force Snap on me and put ads in the shell is because of Rudra Saraswat. His Ubuntu Unity flavor is really good once you remove snapd.

  • I loved the first one and both magickas enough that I'd buy it first day otherwise. I'just have to play one of 700 other games in my library for a few years until they decide it's not worth it anymore.

  • Well, no wonder, they took the Northern Boys off Spotify.

  • Good luck growing onions outside of the system though

  • right now there’s no alternative. It’s crazy expensive to make AA and up games

You're kidding? UE5 with Nanite is a whole-ass studio and you can use it for free and pay a percentage once you're making money. It's never been cheaper and the games have never been more plentiful. AAA has this problem exactly because games like Palworld are hits eating huge amounts of gamers' time.

  • All you care about is your games?

I also care about the people developing them when they're a small business making exceptional quality, such as Flow Fire Games. But I can't be fucked about Ubisoft's 300-strong team in 5 countries producing shitty assets for a perfunctory openworld serving CEO's monetization wet dreams. I don't even have to get into Dunbar rationalizations, they destroyed the franchises I enjoyed, now I get to enjoy some schadenfreude.

  • We’ll have fewer games in the next few years?

We won't, we'll have much more games. Just fewer games developed by 100+ person teams.

  • I still wouldn't use it, but Elon should buy it so he can more convincingly posture a saviour of independent social media. Just drop the tracking, sell square ads on the sidebar based on content only, open up api for all sorts of uses and make rif is ridiculous fun for reddit the official client. Give it to five geeks to maintain and call it a public service. What's a bit more down the drain? It's all gonna go Midas anyways. At least that would be a win for the internets

  • The third season of Witcher is a marvel, it's completely incoherent shit cobbled together from scenes they had laying around and every scene with not much happening is drawn out for maximum time.

  • No. We tried having it centralized and it sucks.

  • I don't even see ads.

  • That's why I save everything into my "Note to self" encrypted Signal blob. It's searchable and you can improvise tags by just writing words

  • for humanity

That's a nice hyperbole. The faster reddit drives everyone away and dies, the better.

  • You're not going anywhere.

Why? I dropped maps completely as soon as they started enshittifying it with elements I don't use that can't be removed from the UI; now I use only OSMand. I dumped Chrome when they announced manifest v3 and use Firefox. I dropped Google Play store when they made it difficult to see the exact version and it turns out f-droid has everything I need. I also dumped gmail for k9; their sms client for an open source one; I removed their Youtube client and use Newpipe. I always search with Ecosia or DDG before trying google.

  • Fuck Ubisoft.

    Jump
  • Yes. Ubisoft's Rayman Origins works with no launcher, just copy steam's game dir and you can run the game exe on another computer.

  • I agree with all three. I always removed (not too long ago) all those lenses with apt, install whatever display server I want with apt and use apt to remove all traces of snap. I still use it, though. For dudes using gnu/linux at home Ubuntu is just Debian without the drama.

  • There's portable Notepad++, it's great

  • I'm looking forward to never using Google's next generation AI assistant just as much as I never used the last one.
