  • OP you sound exactly like me at that age. I was diagnosed with kidney disease at 16 and got a transplant after one year of dialysis at age 27.

Things were amazing after that but now I've got terminal cancer at age 41.

Make the most of everything you've got while you still can.

  • I think it is still capable of solving the problems we currently have, but the biggest question is, will it?

Politics, nationalism, greed, and corporations are currently blocking attempts to solve the climate crisis.

Can we get them out of the way before it's too late? I guess we'll find out.

  • Quite honestly the biggest game changer for me was understanding that you don't have to feel like doing something in order to do it.

Force yourself to do it for five minutes, and 99% of the time you get in the groove and realise "Oh, this actually isn't so bad" and before you know it, you're done.

Every day I exercise (walking) and every single time it goes like this:

    1. Don't wanna do it
    2. Start doing it anyway
    3. It's done
    4. Feel good that I did it
  • There's already projects going for open source firmware for pre existing hardware, such as inkbox and KoReader

I'm also watching the open book project. I'm hoping that supporting it will enable things to progress to the point where it gets in the hands of schoolchildren in developing countries

  • Hearing all the noises in the right sequence was how you knew everything was working on startup

I bet I could close my eyes and still tell you what each of those sounds meant and in what order from my family's first computer (a 386!) if you played a recording of it today
