No OEM has ever read the ACPI spec? Then how does my power button work on Linux? Without ACPI, we would still have "It is now safe to turn off your computer." screens, ala Windows 95. (You can still enable that screen, lol)
I just wonder why M$ reinvented the wheel here. They could already force upgrades anyway, by just rebooting the laptop without the owner's permission like they already did. Fuck Modern Standby, and whoever even thought it was a good idea.
You shouldn't try to benchmark some random server by uploading and downloading files that consist of the bytes FF repeatedly. Store all the crap you want, just don't ruin it for others.
For your last sentence, Dropbox can't tell whether those are legitimate backups that the DMCA gives you the right to, or rips from a piracy site.
Uploading data that's all 1's is just dumb and is designed to "test" the server, in the same way a teenager might test their stepdad.
[N] builds normally.
[A] deletes the source code from your machine and starts building from scratch.
[Ab] aborts like you'd expect.
[I] clean builds only installed packages.
[No] Idem, but only not installed packages.
You can DDOS using an "unlimited" VPS, and DDOS the same provider. Is that abuse? Of course it is. You can't expect a for profit to allow people to upload petabytes of junk all at once.
Do it. It's not as hard as it used to be thanks to systemd-boot existing. I literally reinstalled Windows the other day and nothing happened to systemd-boot. GRUB, is a bit of a mess though.
You're welcome.
