  • Yeah, we'd need to know the gpu or even vague specs on the laptop to give a good answer.

Even assuming that OP is talking about Intel Integrated Graphics that's still a huge range depending on which series it is.

  • Yep. It was not at all what I wanted or expected. And yet, I can't deny that it looks good.

Of course as I said elsewhere, this is DALL-E 3 via Bing, which has a very mixed track record to begin with. I wasn't that surprised I didn't get what I wanted.

  • It's DALL-E 3 on Bing so they filter out all the penises unfortunately.

I get the impression there's a lot of filtering, too. I tried to do "J.C. Denton in the style of David Lynch" and every result was filtered. "J.C. Denton from Deus Ex in the style of David Lynch" on the other hand went through fine, despite "deu sex" being a common joke title for the series. Go figure.

Oh also if you're curious I'll attach what I got for that prompt.

  • Yep, specifically a post-scarcity society that is absent the concept of money.

  • The same folks who complain about new Star Trek being ruined by the "woke mind virus" and apparently never watched the original series.

  • LTSC also doesn't get incremental updates other than absolutely critical vulnerability fixes. It's specifically meant for machines that need everything to function exactly the same over a long period of time, e.g. point of sale machines, the accounting/inventory machine that hangs out in the back office, so on. You aren't going to get any major update or overhaul pushed to an LTSC version of Windows.

LTSC can also be a pain in the tuchus to get your hands on as an individual. If you have an MSDN account however (like through work or school) they often come with a bunch of keys for Microsoft products, including LTSC products. You can check here, just try logging in with your work/school email - even if it's non-Microsoft - and see what happens.

If you can't get your hands on an LTSC copy, then at a minimum try getting a copy of Windows 10/11 "N", which comes without Windows Media Player and Skype pre-installed. It's nowhere near as clean as LTSC, but every little bit helps.

  • So if anyone cares, here's what I finally went with on each tape. Not every tape was full, so some of these only needed an hour-ish of content to tape over it.

    • The entirety of The Backrooms, starting just after the title sequence, followed by some Everywhere at the End of Time
    • The entirety of Local 58, including the 30 minute lander stream
    • The bulk of The Mandela Effect (total runtime is longer than 2 hours by a lot)
    • David Lynch's Rabbits, followed by This House Has People In It
    • Weather Channel Vaporwave (full tape length)
    • The North Korean monster film Pulgasari, followed by the silent film version of Jekyll and Hide
    • Mystery Science Theater 3000: Godzilla vs. Megalon (one of the ones with no proper DVD release, keep circulating the tapes!)
    • Every FenserFilms G.I. Joe PSA parody (short tape)
  • This is what Andrew Tate actually believes.

  • Really early on, too. It was one of the things that made me go "oh wait this isn't just fart jokes in space".

Though to be fair, the reality is that no matter how advanced we get there's still gonna be fart jokes in space. That scene in the cafeteria where everyone's getting Bortus to eat random things seems like a far more realistic vision of a space-faring post-scarcity future.

  • For the actual Windows image you can legitmately download ISOs for most every version of Windows from Microsoft directly, you just need your browser's user agent to say you're using a non-Windows OS. Since you say you're looking to "test Windows" it sounds like you're on another OS, so you should be able to just download an ISO normally.

  • You can see it by going to sh.reddit.com. A lot of people are getting forced to this if they try to use new.reddit.

old.reddit supposedly remains unaffected, so if you use that domain specifically you should be fine. Assuming the Admins aren't lying.

  • Rock-a-Bye Baby. I mean the song is already pretty dark without adding in the metaphor of The Long Sleep.

  • On the subject of Sorbo, apparently he had two small strokes during his time on Hercules and that's part of why he went off the rails so damn abruptly.

In other words they're following a playbook written by the brain-damaged, literally. By all means, go on.

  • Another satisfied customer. Huzzah!

I do want to say that Shifter was one of my earliest major mods and some of the decisions I made were not exactly the most well thought out. It's used as the basis for a lot of other mods but they almost all make some adjustments to what I did, and rightfully so. Other than that little disclaimer, I hope you have fun! :D

  • Mostly Deus Ex and the Bethesda Fallout titles. (3, New Vegas, and 4)

  • I made some mods for a few games. People still use 'em.

  • IIRC he has to put up a cash bond equal to the value of the judgement in order to appeal it. In other words he has to come up with $83.3 million in cash in order to appeal. I'm not sure he has that even if he raids the campaign fund.
