I wouldn't rely too much on lemmy for news and politics tbh, because posts can sway on way or another or even not get traction because most people don't agree with it. Instead I think it's better something like a RSS feed where you can pick your sources, or maybe just check a couple of less biased news outlets, so you can somehow have a more broad overview of what's going from different perspectives.
Honestly is it even worth anything? Even on reddit I didn't really pay attention to how much karma a user had, maybe when I wanted to check if it was a bot or something.
I use one of those plug in repellents. Since they show up in the evening, I turn it on for an hour or two around that time, wait a bit to let the smell leave the room then close windows and doors. Before sleep I do a scoop around the room to find any fucker left.
I'm an average Joe and try to minimize my digital footprint as much as convenience allows, but keep seeing people say that this is paranoia and doesn't matter.
Idk if I became biased after this whole shitstorm, but looks like there are more low effort reposts than before and even less effort in the comments.
Also, idk if it's because I have a lot of subs blocked, but subs like 'am I ugly' gets so many low hanging fruits, to the point that it looks like bots posting.
I'm amazed how well it works. Didn't know a PWA could be this good. The only thing that I really miss is being able to save posts to check later, because I hide read posts.
Edit: oh and the option to block communities and users.
Now I'm hungry. Looks delicious!
