What is really stupid about this is that Canada has some of the highest mobile internet rates in the world. And they expect everyone who needs to pay to have internet all the time.

From a privacy point of view, it makes pefect sense to not share your phone number with a merchant. The only buisness you have with them is a single transaction, they don't need any more information about you other than knowing that you paid.

I generally find that peertube lacks much content but I've found a few channels that I am actually interested it. I find that the video quality is usually higher than what youtube gives me, so I use peertube for the few videos a month I can.

Also, I'm replying from a linux phone running postmarketos, a pixel 3a specifically.

When I bike and have to use car infrastructure, I want the cars to behave predictably so that I can avoid any collisions. There is a commute that I have been doing the past few years where I have to approach a 4 way stop except the direction I come from is bikes only. Drivers could never figure out how to react. Some would completely yield, some would ignore me, and others would follow the road rules and wait their turn. This is probably one of the worst intersections I went through on a regular basis. To make the intersection even more crazy, the cars had dedicated right turn lanes, at this stop sign, making drivers think they can just ignore the road rules and turn right when it was not their turn.

By this metric, the wii is better than the switch since it can backup saves without a subscription or internet connection.

I dispise how the switch will only work with controllers that have received Nintendo's blessing. The switch just uses bluetooth, so why can't I use my wii u and wii controllers that I already own with my switch? Oh right, because Nintendo need more money.

I started using reddit just for the memes and would use some 3rd party frontend to get rid of the ads and nake the interface way cleaner. When the API pricing was announced, I serched for a better source of memes and somehow found lemmy. No ads, no bullshit, and there are some cool communities here that I actually want to participate in.

They would also filter out a newsletter I signed up to that I actually wanted to read.

There is experimental 6dof tracking now IIRC. LVRA is a great place for VR linux info.

Gnome Software does updates without a password. On my fedora machine, it will even download updates automatically.

It's crazy to me just how well those 3d printed wings withstood the high forces involved.

That's where I think android's biggest advantage lies: the staggering amount of high quality, no bullshit FOSS apps available.

I don't know why you are being downvoted since the distance from other cars should absolutely reflect the current conditions. I also agree that to drivers need to proactively look for possible collisions in mirrors and blind spots, though they should be generally calm and patient when driving.

When I did driver's training, they recommended about 2 seconds of distance. I find it to be a reasonable distance most of the time.

I wonder how this will effect the linux phone space (mobian, postmarketos, ubuntu touch). I hope it does not negatively impact progress by stealing attention away.

Postmarketos is a project that already does that. You can run full fat gnome on a pixel 3a or oneplus 6, though phosh is more polished for daily use.

Having a removable and upgradable wireless module makes sense given Framework's ethos. Wifi is being constantly developed with new versions which makes it worthwhile to make upgradable wifi modules. Last time I checked you could even save some money by not including a wireless modules on the Intel models.

I always think about the direction that the top of the circle turns to apply left or right rotation, though I usually use muscle memory.
