  • I don't think that's the default material, I've been moving around the US since 95' getting glasses in each state once a year when I was still on my parents insurance and every time I just get normal glass.

That might just be your provider or something

  • That's good advice. Shame I'm shit at small talk at a fundamental level, but she likes bluey, maybe I could ask if she saw the episode where they were doing pots and pans as helmets or something

  • I think the most manly thing I do is wear pink, I recently got a custom make shirt, bright pink with a big honkin "I love cowboys" printed on the front. Teenage me would be cringing but my thought is, "if you're manly, you can handle the color pink"

Side note is old ladies love it

  • Friend if that is your current experience with same sex relationships then maybe it might be time to branch out a little bit and start talking to new groups.

Ngl your current one, to me, sounds a little depressing

  • So I think I know what you're talking about, but I don't think having hobbies is the issue here.

You do see this a lot when guys are talking and someone brings up a sort of niche hobby (tech, fan bases, something that requires a lot of knowledge)

Guys will all show interest but not want to be talked down to or mansplained to on a topic they're passionate about (yes ladies we experience it too)so they overcorrect and try to prove their knowledge real fast.

This sometimes leads to a sort of feedback loop where the other person thinks they're trying to one up them and tries to be the more knowledgeable one and on and on, I've seen so many guys do this, that's why I avoid talking about hobbies with IRL friends (looking at you RuneScape)

  • Also though, you have to consider not all gamers are tech savvy, and your "generic fixes" through terminal would immediately make some of them have a quit moment.

I think Linux users forget the amount of base knowledge that they had to learn in order to simply use their software proficiently sometimes.

  • I for one welcome the ability to:

    • play flash games,
    • Games without launchers or not on steam
    • Run vortex, wemod, obscure mod installers without winetricks that are more hassle than they're worth (if they work at all)
    • Literally just not have to find workarounds for everything I want to do that isn't through steam that adds another hour of research and installation to the process.

You may now begin the downvotes. (Even if you're wrong I respect your opinions)

  • "Russian military units were also spotted wearing civilian clothes in the Kursk region" I'm seeing a whole lot of statement here but not a whole lot of confirmation.

Spotted wearing civilian clothes? What does that mean? Doesn't that just imply they saw civilians?

I guess I'm struggling to find the bit of info that explains how they knew these are Russian troops. ELI5?
