  • How are they with temperature regulation? I think that’s a big holdback for a lot of people. A gas burner gives consistent heat output at the set level, while an electric burner cycles on and off, resulting in a wider temperature range.

That is not how induction works. The big holdback for people is ignorance about what induction even is. Temperature regulation is instant same way as it is with gas.

  • I’m pretty sure he has a dedicated lawyer checking his statements for gag order violations and if the lawyer can’t directly say if it’s a gag order he goes ahead with it.

I don't share your certainty on that at all. Trump doesn't exactly employ the most qualified lawyers anymore, especially since he has a long history of not paying them and being complicit in sending them to jail. Also he would never let a lawyer hinder his impulse shitposting.

  • This guy is the only candidate who actually has a very detailed plan on how he can end Argentina’s fiscal deficit, which has been prevalent for over 100 years and has caused 20 of our 22 economic crises.

It seems extremely naive and dangerous to trust that the crazy anti-science right wing populist actually having a working plan for anything, much less ending a national deficit.

  • It is a hope, but not one connected to any actual reality I fear.

There wasn't any special clause about "more action movies" in the Miramax scenario, and also the movie market was vastly different in the 1990s compared to now. In the 1990s there was a lot more diversification of blockbuster genres, allowing for the particular type of blockbusters they managed to produce then, but that market is basically all gone now.

  • Lots of cringeworthy American exceptionalism and nationalism in that thread. I especially like this one:

It doesn't, all of these countries have different definitions on what "Rights" are, most of their constitutions don't even define a right in the context of a divine power as the United States does, most countries actually believe its the government's job to assign what rights its people are allowed.

It takes an impressive amount of baseless self confidence to speak with such certainty, yet with such ignorance, not only about other countries but your own country as well.

  • The main problem with that is that you can't make the types very small with wood, and the singlemost expensive ingredient in this whole printing press concept is the paper.

So you would end up having books with very little text on each page, and especially in a slave economy, it would just be much cheaper to make handwritten copies, since you could cram a lot more words on each page.

And again, this is not adressing the issue of even having the skill to make paper in the first place.
