  • That is why it is technically a republic, but not in practice. The constitution says it is a republic, and they actually have an election for the role of head of state, well "election", but of course in practice that is not how it works at all.

The US is also technically a representative democracy, but in practice, well...

  • No, republic just means that the role of head of state isn't hereditary. Lots of dictatorships are republics, some democracies are as well. The actual political system of the USA is representative democracy (in theory at least).

The fact that these terms are so muddled in the minds of the average American is completely deliberate, because it makes it so much easier for them to subvert US democracy when people have been told that the US is not one.

  • It seems like you are mainly criticising fans (perhaps imaginary fans) rather than the show itself. I do agree that the later seasons are just not as good as the first ones, and personally I have little interest in the newest season, it never should have been revived in my opinion, it is just going to end up like the Simpsons.

I will gladly rewatch old episodes though, and no, not because I think it predicts anything, but because it is damn funny.

such as with its views on theology and politics which are trademark 90’s views.

You are getting me curious. Could you give some examples of what trademark 90's views on theology and politics are?

  • I feel you. They got these bots posting results of games or whatever to each and every sports team community. But it is not one bot doing that, no that would be too easy because you could just block that, each and every sports team community got its own specifically named bot posting the exact same things.

Really messes a lot with the all/new feed.

  • Yeah, I think OP is asking strictly from a US perspective (although being USdefaultist by not specifying it), because I can't really think of any large European city which doesn't have realitve large parks in the city center or next to it.

  • Gas is dramatically more responsive and precise for heat control.

Compared to coil definitely, but not if we are talking induction. Induction is as responsive as gas for heat control. Of course noone should be buying electric coil stoves in this day and age.
