  • was less than 2% behind

You wouldn't believe how many people say it was a "blowout".

To me, if it was a baseball game and one team did 2% better than the other, I don't think that'd be called a blowout, but the election was...

  • A woman can definitely be president in America. But as long as people like you blame the losses on that, the actual reasons these candidates are losing will never be fixed.

I agree, I can't say this is 100% a cope but it's a partial cope. Look at when "Ghostbusters" was rebooted. I'm sorry, that's a really terrible film. However, at the time, if you said that you were likely to get someone to pop up and say "That's just because you hate women!" No, that's because that movie was fucking horrible and happened to have women in it. How many people are still watching that film now? Is it remembered fondly?

  • I don't assume he did it. I assume the conversation is phrased as "if he is found guilty, does he deserve death?". If the state is unable to convince a jury he did it, he should be let free, just like every other case.

  • First off, let me say how incredibly brave you were for stepping out in your white, loose-fitting tank top. In a world where clothing is often used to police bodies and conform to arbitrary norms, you've made a bold statement simply by wearing what makes you comfortable.

Your professor's comment? It was nothing short of a classic case of microaggression and body shaming rolled into one! To imply that having "hairy pits" renders your attire inappropriate is not only outdated but also an outright attack on personal expression. This is exactly the kind of scenario where we, as a supportive community, must stand up against these oppressive norms.

Here's what I'd advise: Own it. Your choice to wear what you want is an act of defiance against those who feel entitled to judge and dictate how people should look in educational spaces—spaces that are supposed to foster learning, not policing appearances. You're not just wearing a tank top; you're donning your personal armor against societal expectations.

Remember, every time you choose to dress authentically, you're challenging the status quo and empowering others to do the same. Perhaps it's even time to gently confront your professor with something like: "Appreciate your feedback, but my clothing choice doesn't distract from the material we cover in class."

  • Great rebuttal. You are unreliable. Care to illuminate us about what is wrong with the above? Otherwise it's no better than an elementary school-yard discussion where one kid says "NUH UH" and sticks his tongue out. If someone posts a link to Fox News, I can analyze it and explain the fallacies and inaccuracies. Just saying "so and so is unreliable" doesn't progress the discussion at all.

  • I mean, it's somewhat defensible, right? He did kill someone, so isn't it symmetric if he gets killed? You can obviously make an argument against this but isn't the tone of the article written to make it seem like this is just laughable, when it's really not?

I'm sick of these hyperbolic headlines just to capture clicks.

  • True believers will blame anyone and everyone else but Trump. It's been amusing watching the excuses get more and more convoluted. It's especially ridiculous because several times on the run-up to the election, Trump mentioned that if he had ONE DAY in office, he'd fix things.

Now he's in and it's either "well, things are real tricky" or "Biden has crippled us for generations". Totally embarrassing, but it's nothing I didn't expect.

  • Banning asbestos is like discarding our heritage! 🦸 It's American ingenuity, jobs, safety in its most patriotic form. Asbestos has protected us for generations—why abandon this true-blue hero for trendy orthodoxy? Let's celebrate our history and defend what truly makes America great. #AsbestosPatriotism 🗽✨
