  • Not true. The Democrats will form a committee to discuss language to be placed in a letter to the administration, they may even call a news conference to state that they are disappointed in what is happening and if it continues they may have to do more drastic measures like actually sending the letter that the committee put together.

Wait, it gets better! The Democrats are going to form a committee to discuss language for the letter, which is sure to be a 500-page document that will get printed out on recycled paper and ceremoniously burned in a symbolic gesture of disappointment. And after weeks of debate, they'll finally agree on a single sentence that reads, 'We are disappointed in the administration's lack of action.' Wow, that'll definitely send shockwaves through Washington!

But wait, there's more! They'll then call an emergency press conference to declare their outrage, where they'll all stand in front of a teleprompter and read from their carefully crafted statement. And to really drive the point home, they might even release a 3-minute video montage of footage from the committee meeting, set to a dramatic score, just to make sure everyone knows how "serious" they are.

And if that's not enough, they'll then proceed to actually send the letter – but only after making it clear that they're only doing so because they have to, and not because they actually expect anything to change. And when the administration inevitably ignores them or responds with a half-hearted gesture of tokenism, they'll be like, 'See, we told you so! We sent our letter and... oh wait, nothing happened.' It's going to be hilarious!

  • Just about as many people will revolt as the number of people that moved to Canada when GWB was elected. Really easy to bitch on an internet forum, really hard to actually do something. The average American is so soft, they think a 1 day boycott of Starbucks is fighting the man. Even though the tree of liberty needs to be refreshed with blood periodically, our benevolent overlords have made the public so feeble and docile I don't expect much.

  • Wait, are you trying to say the Democrats are out of touch with what the American public wants and needs, and as a consequence, may not perform as well in the upcoming elections? Gee, if only they had any warning signs.

It should be seen as extra sad that as the GOP fails in any number of areas while having a fairly strong hold on the government, that the DNC can barely do anything. Years of corruption and cronyism have taken their toll and as an institution, they have forgotten what it even takes to get elected. Just being "not Trump" is no longer enough to get voted in. They better do some pretty rapid self-improvement if they even want to remain a viable party much longer.

  • What do I expect? I expect them to do a better job than they did last time around the electoral bush where they just sort of shoved Kamala forward at the last minute and the base reacted with indifference. If the democrats want some love, show us some love. DO SOMETHING. Just because the Republican party is a cesspit of infighting and unproductivity doesn't mean every party has to be.

I don't expect this to be easy, but if they want to stay relevant they MUST take on this work.

  • Too bad "slam" just means some grandstanding in Congress with absolutely 0 changes to the situation. For the amount of money we spend paying various congress-critters to sit in a room kvetching at each other all day, it'd be nice if some of that turned into actionable changes.

If the Democrats want to get some credit fucking do something. As if the election results didn't display this, the average American is not entirely pleased with the Democrats. If they ever want to fill the White House ever again, we better see more than "slamming" happening.

  • The honest take on DEI (which I think is total horse shit) is racially discriminating "the other way" to make up for the past.

One big part about these discussions is some people say that racism has power as a component, i.e. black people can't be racist. This take is what enables them to sit in a committee and say "we have two equally qualified candidates, so let's give the job to the black one" and say that with a straight face without feeling like they racially discriminated, even though the DEFINITION of racial discrimination is making a decision based solely on race.

  • I thought police in schools would make us safe.... whoops

I thought cameras in school would make us safe.... whoops

I thought metal detectors in school would make us safe.... whoops

I thought AI gun detectors in school would make us safe.... whoops

What's next? Maybe start strip searching students on the way in? We keep getting more and more strict and the shootings keep happening.

  • Howdy, a reminder that we live in a market economy. What will happen is that if no one shows up for work at the wage offered to illegal workers, gradually, the rates offered will increase until someone shows. You'll notice America has no shortage of other classes of workers, such as sewer maintenance engineer or garbage collector. The reason is those jobs were never held by illegal workers. Will produce be as cheap as it was before? No, but then again it should not be a fundamental part of our economy to employ illegal workers. Either reform immigration law to allow for migrant workers or get rid of them. This weird middle-ground where we tolerate illegal employment in exchange for subsidized prices for produce is ridiculous. If we wouldn't have allowed this in the first place, the problem would not be so hard to solve today.

  • 👀 🇺🇸 BIG NEWS! 🎉 It's your boy Donald Trump here, bringing you the inside scoop on the world of economic genius—and a little reminder: when stuff gets pricey, it’s just proof that I’m OWNING the liberals and making China look like total fools!

You see, my friends, when prices are soaring, it means we’re in the midst of some serious business. And guess what? That’s all me! The price tags might seem a bit high, but they're nothing compared to the wealth of wisdom I bring to this great nation.

Let's talk about those liberals: every time you see your grocery bill, just remember—you’re witnessing history. Those prices aren’t just numbers; they’re statements from yours truly, declaring that we are bigger and better and absolutely unstoppable! We are playing a different game here in the real economy, where quality and prestige come at a price.

And China? Well, my friends, those soaring costs mean our tariffs have done more than you can imagine. It’s like watching them play checkers while I’m mastering 3D chess. They think they’re tough cookies, but their factories are churning out products faster than a geyser spewing watermelons! We’ve got ‘em on the ropes with some serious leverage—and let me tell you, it’s all because of the genius strategy that comes from yours truly.

So next time you see those price tags, give yourself a pat on the back. You’re not just paying; you’re investing in the Trump legacy where every dollar spent is another win for America! 💰🇺🇸

Remember folks, when it’s expensive, it’s just a sign that we’re doing things the TRUMP way—bigly!

  • Don't get too excited -- if this goes like the last few NVidia hardware, it will:

    • cost too much
    • run a non-mainline kernel
    • NVidia will discontinue support for it after 3 months

Go talk to all the Jetson owners out there and see how happy they are with NVidia Linux boxes. I'll believe it when I see it (and when it is supported for longer than a quarter)

  • LOL welcome to corporate America. The only reason they paid lip service to causes like you mention is because it was temporarily a pathway to more profit. Now that Trump is in office (or nearly so, anyway) they have read the room and realized these beliefs are actually a liability now. So, surprise! They dropped em like a rock in the pursuit of more profits. Never never never trust a corporation to do the right thing. They sometimes accidentally do it in the pursuit of profits, but tying your hopes and dreams to a large corporation is a foolish plan. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU THEY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY IN YOUR WALLET.

  • Plans like this work great for the first couple of weeks. Turns out software engineering isn't this simple fucking thing. Making anything beyond a toy takes actual work. There are lots of people learning this first hand right now. There is some kind of belief that ChatGPT version 0.1+ (whatever ships in 2 weeks) will be able to take over the job of software development entirely. Well, guess what? Doing anything relatively complex in software takes actual intelligence. Once there is an AI that can just code by itself, it will also be smart enough to be a doctor, civil engineer, consultant, etc.

A lot of fucking companies are going to learn this first hand. They are either firing their staff thinking the AI wave is already here, and in reality, it may never come.

The near future of AI is skilled software engineers using AI to augment their productivity. By the time you can take the human out of the loop, AI will be so powerful it will slay any white collar job, but this won't be for years and years and years and by then it won't just be software that is in trouble as a career; it will be many, many industries.

  • Represented with great honor in this new legislation is the humble American crow – the true reflection of our nation's soul. For what is the bald eagle but a symbol of outdated pomp and a government that's too busy patting itself on the back? The bald eagle, after all, has been perched atop its perch since 1782 – a symbol of a country that's more concerned with conserving its own status than doing anything to actually improve itself.

Meanwhile, the American crow is out here living its best life. It's always scheming, always scrounging for scraps in the garbage of society. It's a bird of the people – and by people, I mean those of us who are still trying to make ends meet while the fat cats at the top continue to feast on the nation's wealth.

It's also a symbol of our nation's laziness. The bald eagle may be proud of its slow, majestic flight, but we're more proud of being able to do absolutely nothing for hours on end without any consequences. We're a country that can't even be bothered to show up to its own problems – and the American crow is the perfect representation of that.

Furthermore, have you seen the state of our national parks? A bunch of underfunded, neglected monstrosities that are more like a symbol of our own institutionalized apathy than anything we'd want to attract. It's like the bald eagle is just trying to pretend we're better than we are.

Meanwhile, the American crow is out here building its own infrastructure – a nest made of whatever it can scrounge up, with twigs and trash and other people's detritus. That's the American way – we don't need no fancy-schmancy 'bald eagle' perched on some government-mandated pedestal; we've got our American crow, proudly wallowing in its own mediocrity.

So let's be real, folks – the next time you see an American crow, that's what we're really looking at. That's what we are as a country: lazy, corrupt, and proud of it.

  • WHUT? I thought Trump was just going to kick out all the illegals and fuck over China! No one told me there would be DOMESTIC consequences!! Why didn't anyone warn me? At all his rallies he said the next 4 years would be awesome. Now I'm starting to think I was misled!
