  • Don't worry, they'll drop 12 soon to make people prefer 11

  • I do be seeing you in the comments

  • Out fishing with some buddies on a river popular for its springs and people floating on inner tubes.

Except, we were well south of the exit for tubers to be picked up by the shuttle and taken back to the start, and we start hearing a loud group approaching. Eventually they saw us and loudly spoke to each other saying something about "asking the rednecks". When they got closer they did, to the point of saying, "Hey rednecks, where is the exit for tubers? Did we pass it or is it coming up?"

They were probably a 20 minute float past the exit. I told them they had about another 20 minutes to go.

    "Thank you rednecks!"

  • Its batman. He wears a thick set of plot armor.

    Also that movie sucks.

  • Same. Florida's worst disasters are usually just the people.

  • Where do the local farmers get their tractors and tools? Where does the fabric, dye, looms, sewing machines etc. for clothing come from? Where does the furniture maker buy his tools and who makes them? Are your solar panels homemade? What does that electricity power?

Whether directly or not, some portion of the money we spend will end up in the hands of these corporations, even if it just means you paid the furniture guy for a chair and he used that money to buy his kids mcdonalds. And while it's great that you sound like you're actively trying to live in a sustainable way, I don't think you get to deny that if you're a part of the economy you're still supporting corporations, simply due to the sheer depth and breadth of these companies.

  • There are those packing peanuts made from corn starch.

If I remember correctly, the industry term for packing peanuts is "void filler" so, fill that void!

  • While this sounds wonderful, if this person is suffering from depression, everything you just described will feel either completely impossible for this person, or like absolutely and utterly useless wastes of time.

Exercise, nature, and activities certainly help depression, but the difficulty lies in actually finding the energy and give-a-shit to do those things, which in my experience was impossible without outside help (like therapy and meds).

  • Lol never had that issue either

  • It's been a while but I was learning to songwrite and record a few years ago. Been focusing on education lately so not as much time for it these days.

  • "Pampered version of the South" lol I grew up in Bum-Fuck, Florida and have lived in various southern cities as well as spending much of my youth in random rural areas.

Racists and pieces of shit exist everywhere and I'm not denying that. Your blanket statement regarding all southerners is where I take issue.

Don't forget you said you were a southerner yourself, so am I to expect God will speak to you at any moment and turn you into an even more prejudiced person or...? Because if that's a true statement, which it isn't, you're saying you yourself should never be trusted. And if that's the case, why should we listen to what you, who is just another Southern, backstabbing, secret Bible thumping, homophobic, racist (accordng to your own flawed statement) have to say anyway?

  • I mean I'm just gonna go buy an identical service, so have fun with your face rubbing.

  • Southerner here and I'll say you were right, up until your last paragraph.

Just remember any southerner is one thought from God away from stabbing you in the back at all times

    This part however, is bullshit.

We're not all the same and that you would suggest so actually pisses me off. Replace the word "southerner" in that sentence with any other group of people and see if you still find it acceptable.
