  • When there's multiple people involved with hiring this happens all the time. When you get 100/1000s of applications many get stuck in some in-between status like contacting/shortlist when they should be denied. If you're used to ERP/CRM where there's no way to abandon a ticket unless you mark it resolved, LinkedIn and indeed feel pretty loose by comparison and it's easy to miss things like that.

  • With the wind chill in Chicago it was like -24°F (-31°C) this past weekend. Absolutely brutal, and my fucking dog is so picky about where she pees so I spent 15 mins each in the AM and PM walking her about.

It was +6°F this morning and that felt pretty balmy by comparison.

  • Yeah, this is someone in my group - I do some meta shit but branched off to do fun stupid things I like.

Big numbers are fun but it's not fun when your replacement character has every counter and spell for what we normally deal with, is the only high int character when we were originally all low int. Now add to that half of every session is pointless NPC RP you set up with the DM to reveal your pointless backstory that you clearly spent way too much time on.

I think I hate DND I just want adventure and to kill some goblins and stuff. The story is in the adventure and choices you make, not your 20 page backstory and critical role wannabe voice acting.

    Grrr

  • It's like a year's worth of pent up desire for more free time, then we get it and have no clue what to do so we default to scrolling, YouTube, and enough weed to stay at least mildly stoned for a week. Then back to work like nothing happened, except nobody has been doing your work so you get to deal with whatever work picked up during that time.

  • There's the next one on the chopping block. It's kind of great and freeing cancelling all these subscriptions. Just one $5 payment per month to newsgroup ninja and i got everything. I've been holding on to prime and Netflix for convenience but honestly fuck them.

  • My mom is pretty vehemently anti trump, she has a Christmas ornament that says "fuck Trump" and a coffee mug that's says something to a similar effect. No effigies tho, but GOP had a pretty dark history with that one so it probably wasn't too deep in their playbook.
