  • Are we seriously complaining that requiring ID with your current name on it is unreasonable?

Asked and answered. You're assumption here is wrong and minimizes the issue at hand. And just for the record, in the future, if you don't understand something, it's OK to take a minute and inform yourself before you comment.

Quit trying to stir up shit by creating this false dichotomy of gender and people changing their name. Nobody cares why someone changed their name here, they're just pointing out that MANY women do it after marriage. Something that this party claims to care about the sanctity of. You're point that it is not JUST women is correct, and only makes the problem WORSE.

  • Septic systems can be VERY expensive for regulatory reasons. And I believe the article said part of the agreement suspends criminalizing failure to afford upgrades.

A few years ago, our septic system in Alabama began to display some issues. We were told that to repair it , we could not legally "just repair" the issue. Instead, to make the repairs, we would be required to fully upgrade the system to a new system to bring it into compliance with regulatory laws that had been put in place since the system was installed previously. The cost to do this was over 20% of our families total yearly income (before taxes), and about 10% of the full mortgage on the house. We were unable to afford this.

This meant that we had to either restrict access to regular hygiene in our home or risk sewage backup overflows into our home. Luckily, the engineer who surveyed for the repair also lived up the street and had a similar issue. He told us how he fixed it on his house without tripping the regulatory laws (basically bypassed some high output water sources, like laundry, from going into the septic system and taxing it). We never had to live with sewage, and this was not in a rural area.

  • Did you read the article? Did you read the law? ID is not sufficient for proof of citizenship. Your birth certificate is your proof of citizenship, and if you were married and took your spouses name, then your name does not match your ID. You must at this point apply for a US Passport. Many citizens of the US, especially poorer citizens, do not have one because they have never traveled. And, I hear there can be long lead times to getting one, because the infrastructure is not in place to support processing the quantities of passports that we would need if every American citizen now needs one. So, are we going to stop firing federal workers so that we can get everyone documented proof now so they can vote?

  • So, if I forget my Fitbit, then the run didn't happen. So here, I have to hold my poop to get to the toilet camera.

Can y'all just tell me what kind of poop consistencies apparently indicate disease? I could use my eyes.

  • For exercise, my philosophy is "better, not perfect" I look for easy sustainable things, and set small goals and celebrate all of them. I really like walking and listening to audio fiction podcasts instead of watching shows.

  • Holding on. Looking for opportunities to make the world better, holding on to the positive things I see those around me doing. Making sure I stay informed as much as I can.

Trying to get some regular exercise for my mental health.

    How are you friend?

  • I'm a super huge fan of water coming out of my faucets that I can drink. I like drinking water, and this just makes it so easy to get water to drink. I do lots of other stuff with water too, like wash things and it makes those things easier too. I wish everybody had clean safe drinking water and faucets to dispense it.

  • She shouldn't have to, and I hope she is safe, but I also wouldn't underestimate what Marcy is capable of surviving. But, Imagine all the good she would be bringing into the world if we didn't force her to spend her time doing this.

  • I believe she did think she would be arrested. But her letter points out all the reasons arresting her is biggotry. So she took away their ability to deny the bigotry of it.

This is exactly the purpose of civil disobedience.
