  • Just block, don't argue. A person who would post this while ignoring everything he's said in public, and then force you to debate them on whether he ever said anything in public? That's not good faith. Block. This is not a person you want to talk to.

  • That's because their personal concern about democracy is zero. Zero concern. They have money and power, they don't need democracy. The threat that the store down the road will be closed when they want to buy tic-tacs is more concerning to them than Trump's threat to democracy.

  • I'm actually hopeful that America had a brush with death and may shy away from that noise this time. We've got about 30% of the population still holding that loaded gun to our heads, but I think the rest of us understand what happens if we let them pull the trigger. Time will tell.

  • Headline: prison sentence may be the least of his problems

The quote, 4 sentences into the article under the headline: actually he's just looking at a longer prison sentence

I was like damn, what can they do to him that's worse than prison and the answer is "more prison". Clickbait headline.

  • He's been a conservative hack for a while (and he's been a hack for his entire career), he just hid it better than, say, Victoria Jackson or something. This is him feeling too comfortable. I'm glad this crowd didn't let him stay comfortable.

  • In that condition she could probably have convinced him to "legally" deed all his properties to her. (She would need to be able to enthrall everyone in the room when it happens, otherwise witnesses will testify he wasn't of sound mind, but that seems like something she could solve.)

It gets complicated after that, though, lots of shareholder suits if she does anything too drastic. Maybe she converts all those assets into investments in renewable energy, which would keep shareholders off her back.

Then she only has to deal with assassin squads sent by the rest of the oil stakeholders but, again, that seems like a problem she could solve.
