Would you pay what it costs to make. Because they make them, but you're not going to find them at Best Buy on an 18 month payment plan. They're going to start at $7k on steep sale for the smallest model if you're lucky and work their way up in price. Everyone wants long lasting products, they just want them in made in China out of plastic component prices.

Yeah, but it does. I have the right to bodily autonomy, but watch me try and get an abortion in some states in the US and see what happens.

Cool opinion, just explain to me how say a mother of 3 that can't find or afford a sitter is supposed to vote? Or her husband who is working 2 jobs to pay rent is supposed to find time? How about the elderly that don't have a car? The handicapped? What if I have a contagious disease? I should just turn on up to a busy polling booth and spread my TB all over the place? Or am immunocompromised and could die from a cold, probably spread by that sick person that had to turn up to vote? All those people lose their right to vote because they can't get to a polling place on the one day they allow voting? You are removing their rights why?

They've been doing this for decades. This isn't new. They got it so Texas approved the countries textbooks and it all kind of went downhill from there.

Stay at home wife. I used to work as a bookkeeper, now dealing with some health issues. However I am 55 and have used computers since as long as i can remember, I learned how to use punch cards in what you yanks would call middle school. So I don't work in tech, but it doesn't bother me to learn new things. Lemmy reminds me of the good old days of BBS and just trying things out to see what stuck.

2016 was the year a whole bunch of people were convinced that "protest voting" was an actual thing and that "both sides are the same so don't bother voting". Hopefully a few of those people have learned their lesson.

It's really crazy that people thing he's only popular because of the "other than Trump" phenomenon. The guy has done a lot of good, the Dems aren't planning to kill me if I have an abortion, end my friends marriage or call the local drag queens who entertain me on a Friday night pedophiles, there are a lot of reasons to vote for the Dems aside from then not being Not Trump. ie they aren't trying to take anyone's fucking rights away to start with.

Don't put anyone on a pedestal. Not politicians, not celebrities', not twitch streamers, not your girlfriend. You can love, respect and even like people, but don't worship anyone, it leaves you blind to their faults and it's a pain in the ass being the one on the pedestal in a relationship.

My mother was a hippy before I was born, marched in every march going when I was a kid. Anti war, greenpeace, Land Rights the works. The last thing she did on her drive to the hospital for what would turn out to be her last time, was post in her postal vote for gay marriage rights. She was 74 years old. You don't get more conservative as you get older unless you choose to.

He's less cordial than Obama was. Obama was all about getting consensus. Everytime the GOP or the SCOTUS do some shenanigans, Biden and his team come up with alternative plans to try to do end runs around their bullshit, he's not trying to get the GOP onside he's trying to govern around them. Obama would never have done that.

Cooking is fun and you can eat the results. Find a recipe or a dish you've always wanted to try that is a little hard for your current cooking level but not impossible and spend a fun afternoon , in my case making chocolate eclairs from scratch. Mine look like turds but taste amazing, can't wait to try again.

Sided with an 11 year old or sided with the law and the 11 year olds rights?
