  • 6 months is the most I’ve ever heard it paying out, regardless of the employment length. Since it’s the state paying it, there is just a “time period,” which for my state is 6 months for every qualified period…. Which appears to be 90 days of employment gets up to 6 months of unemployment (with the payment being based on salary). Hopefully I don’t find out.

  • So, without advocating that anyone do something about this. May personal opinion of people who work in jobs like ICE, is that they should be treated like a Nazi in WWII who stepped into a room of Allies holding hatchets.

  • The unemployment timeline needs to be extended to meet job availability. I get that a small number of people abuse the system, but most don’t and it can take well over 6 months for find a job.

I got laid off last year. Submitted over 200 applications, got 4 interviews, and took the first one that said yes—for $30k less than my previous job, and still that took 7 months.

  • So, considering I’m not using it for putting people out of jobs, and I’m not using it for justifying personal opinions, and I’m not misusing it in any way…. now what is your opinion? Are you just going to consistently find a way to complain about it because your mind is made up, or are you willing to have a rational conversation
