I'm not sure if it's on sale but I'll just keep talking about Revita because it's such a succinct rogue like that blends hollow knight and TBOI very well.

That still happened on PC, or on my OG steam deck at least, but it was somewhat remedied by some commands to adjust settings. Things like turning off visible bots, background settings, UI elements. That leaves most of the processing just being you walking around/gathering and whatever background machinery you have going, vs all of everything.

I imagine those were not present on Switch/Xbox since these were basically commands applied to the game .ini.

Also FWIW, may not really be worth picking up again unless you really want to endgame it. The developer was kind of a chud to the team from some of the stories I read which seemed to result in the endgame kind of teetering off into nothing. Like, once you find all the NPC's you're not playing for anything but to build and optimize, even though it feels like it's leading you on with more to unlock somehow.

I'd double check of course, as with anything it could be a bunch of nonsense. But yeah I pretty much agree, it's an ok game with some issues, they can be remedied on PC but even then it's just kind of like you work to it, you did it, it's done and what was the point. There's nothing to take away from the game, I guess.

A few, a silver Pikachu Gameboy color, some synthesizers from the 1980's, a unique guitar that I've only been able to find documentation of 1 other one online (Ibanez Nitro full wood body finish - it's certainly a custom). And I think the last pride and joy is my Sony MDR-V600's.

Anybody remember Cube World? Those little electronic cubes that you could magnetically attach to others and they could interact? Got a set of those too.

The music stuff is the oldest but it's mostly second hand so it's harder to claim. The headphones were a gift and new back then though, so they're for sure, same with the Gameboy color and Cube World. Heh :)

That's true although I would also hypothesize that giant mollusks would likely fall into a biome that has these conditions.

That said, I could see body of a slug not really getting fossilized. The shell probably would be, but maybe not depending on circumstances.

They are social, a busy bar bathroom? You'll make a friend for life in there. There's little media though. Unless they have TVs inside the bathroom/stalls, and I wouldn't really count music since the focus isn't the music but doing your business.

This was shown to me on my personal Instagram, my partner is heavily involved in our queer community. I was shocked when I saw this post on Instagram, then I saw it was from Threads. Way to fucking validate my position about every reason I've been giving to defederated from Threads.

I was searching for hours today for somewhere to post this. On an aside but regarding Threads federation - are people's smaller servers even equipped to be able to handle the potential traffic of Threads users? Or would it not work like that? Like, if a link to my comment above for example were posted on threads and it blew up and 25m people were trying to view it... Wouldn't that effectively DDoS my instance if it's not able to handle that kind of traffic?

We are historically a sundown state. The leading party is trying to ban books and change education curriculums. Our police showed up in riot gear for peaceful protests like when Roe v. Wade was turned, and those same police are literal klan members. We know this because during that Nazi rally I mentioned, the police in uniform were nowhere to be found. They were all photographed taking part in the rally. Yet these officers are happy to show up armed in riot gear at peaceful protests...

So yeah, I do feel that my state is politically extremist, and a number of people would absolutely welcome something like that. I wish it weren't how I felt and I wish it weren't the truth, but that's just the byproduct of 2016 and years and years of Fox News and other propaganda "politicizing" peoples identity.

Most of the state? As individuals definitely not, there are many against our state government who actively campaign. We get targeted, followed home, and assaulted for being queer, for being activists who dare try and speak out against hatred at peaceful protests. And yet despite all of us, somehow all those asshats are still getting elected with no policies made to protect these citizens.

I'm not trying to be facetious here. I believe in goodwill first and foremost and doing the right thing over doing nothing, and I always have hope for the best in people. But after 2016, fuck, after January 6th we have to be better than optimistic. We have to hold people accountable, and that means recognizing the actual state of the world we are in, which means recognizing that yes, there are people right now who would argue for a bloodsport. To them it would be bonus points if it was LGBT+ and POC participants.

The only way to come close to changing is by acknowledging our faults as a whole and do as much as we can to remedy them. We have to be compassionate while being completely intolerant of their hateful bullshit and insane rhetoric.

Damn. You just made me realize some of the scope of background interest - that's the sort of thing that Skyrim, GTA V, and Cyberpunk 2077 like to claim about NPC's existing in a living breathing world on their own schedules.

You ever think about all the lives of the individuals next to you on the freeway? How all their lives are as complicated as our own? We don't have that in games right now because it's so complex and needlessly complicated for so little return.

But man, imagine a Shadow of Mordor connected NPC world. Friend groups, rivals, coworkers, bar patrons, they all have individuality that could affect other elements of the social game.
