I miss the days of Wii and PSP homebrew. No online shit to get banned from, no special booting techniques. 3DS cfw came pretty close in terms of ease of use.
That said, being able to pirate games directly from the 3DS and Switch was a big step up from having to transfer files over to the memory card (PSP) or effectively needing a dedicated external HDD/partition (Wii). Even if it was slow as hell and couldn't use my full internet speed.
I know Nuts N Bolts wasn't what anyone wanted from a Banjo Kazooie 3, but I think the rendition of Spiral Mountain in itwas beautiful. I'd love a remake of the first two in that style!
Yeah, I think they went a little too hard with Crash 4. I understand wanting to make sure there was a reason to play it instead of the remakes, but sometimes it's okay to just give players more of what already worked.

But in the interest of good faith, here's the cliff notes: It's run by a corporation headed by one of Twitter's original founders, and there's not significant evidence it will not fall to the same path to shittiness that Twitter did. It is only technically federated, not actually in practice. It is not fully open source, as key portions of the infrastructure code have not been released. Of the portions that have been released, it is nearly impossible to run your own node due to the major amount of storage space required. Beyond that, all communications must ultimately go through BlueSky's centralized infrastructure. There's no point to running your own node because their centralized infrastructure won't talk with it. No one has actually been able to do anything more than host their own profile in regards to federation. At this point there is no financial incentive for them to invest money in solving the issues preventing it from being able to be truly federated.
Most of all, mastodon already exists as a mature system for federated microblogging without the major drawbacks of bluesky.

They'd probably be worried that I had gotten sucked into the interminable rat race, and wouldn't believe me when I said I had found a way to be comfortable with it. I used to have panic attacks about the idea of entering the normal workforce and ending up in a job situation like my father did. Love the man, but he prioritized "providing" for the family over being present, and burned himself out doing it. I can see the nuanced differences between that and my situation now, but I never would have back then.
They wouldn't believe that a relatively modest life could cost so damn much of what I take home. I make money that would make my 19yo head spin, and it's still not enough to be as comfortable as I would like.
They'd be furious that I let my strong friendships of the time slip for over a decade.
They'd be worried about my weight and how far my general health has tanked. Walking everywhere and doing manual labor jobs had made it easier than I realized to stay healthy back then.
They'd be confused that I'm a decade into a different romantic relationship. That might cause them to more carefully examine the one they were in at the time. I'm not sure if cutting it early would have been better for me though. I learned and grew by years in the span of a few months when that relationship was dying.
What games are you playing where it's showing its age? I'm using a 2070 super personally. With a variable refresh rate monitor I hardly notice slowdown unless it's below 30fps, or if it's spiking.
I also play old games. My recent ones (past year) have been Fallout New Vegas, Stardew Valley, Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2, Sonic Unleashed Recompiled, and Cyberpunk 2077.
Doing trade routes in solo mode is considerably less engaging, but is still a great zen thing for me while I listen to podcasts or half watch something.
The composer for the OST recently did studio quality remasters of a good chunk of the Ape Escape soundtrack (split across two separare albums iirc) based off the original "before compression" demos, and he also has a big discography of music in the same style.

Microsoft has to bundle its consumer AI products in with other licenses in order to achieve their frankly abysmal adoption rates. They also have recently significantly reduceded plans for further spending on datacenters, indicating that they might already see the writing on the wall.
OpenAI, the most successful AI "corp", hemorages money to a mind boggling degree and actually loses money per query.
It's not profitable or sustainable. The market forces, if left alone, would not provide enough demand to cover the astronimical costs. Companies with more money than god like Microsoft and now Softbank (although they are having to take out massive loans now) are burning astronomical piles of cash to prop it up.
