  • The overwhelming majority of the nags can be disabled permanently with the right configuration, in a way that isn't trampled on by updates.

The main issue is that because Microsoft doesn't have anywhere close to sane defaults, many people believe it isn't possible to configure sanely.

It also doesn't help that Microsoft has crossed the threshold where there's too many people using it who think they know what they're doing well enough to speak authoritatively about its "issues" when they don't. Lots of Dunning Kreuger going on.

And that MS torched a ton of their learning resources for desktop config and admin stuff when they went all in on the cloud and are only now recreating some of them.

And people try to use it outside of the intended use case then get frustrated that things get weird. It's configired to be a daily driver or at least powered on once a week for updates, of course if you only use it every few months things are going to suck. You'd get laughed at if you were using a hammer to drive screws, but Windows is supposed to just work anyway with no rough edges?

  • Do you somehow think that if you just fake the technical requirement for this .lpf file it will be smooth sailing?

What happens when this gets caught by an actual human being?

  • Sweet! I did similar with backing up my DS carts and saves so I could play them all on 3DS off the SD card with Twilight Menu.

  • And most people with a purpose for those exploits, like speedrunners, will find a way to get a hacked console where these limitations on downgrading don't exist.

  • There are also hacked/modified XP builds floating around based off the source code leaks that backport some of the modern Windows OS features.

Still not an "easy" experience though.

  • As another comment identified, that's itshannahowo. You can find images including her vagina at your own leisure.

  • Man, reddit users sure don't change, do they? DAE have this incredibly popular opinion? Has anyone thought of this very obvious idea?

Teasing aside, you should be able to find multiple options on how to do so with a simple google search, or a search of old posts in this very community. Terms like comment scrubber or account wiper.

This was incredibly common during the first big "exodus" of reddit users when they started cutting off third party api access, killing nearly every third party app and almost all moderation tools.

I'm honestly shocked you haven't seen any of those "replaced" comments yet. They're pretty common in any reddit thread more than a few months old that shows up in google search results.

It will most likely get you banned before you replace all of your comments, and if you somehow have a popular enough account where the reddit employee admins care, they can revert your changes after banning you. They did this with a large number of accounts during "the exodus", where people went back a week later to find their comments restored and they couldn't log back in to do antthing about it. Some users attempted to get their comments removed after that via GDPR requests, but I'm not sure if anyone reported back on if that worked or not.

  • Shouldn't be much of a surprise. His family has always been eugenecists with a "benevolent" mask. Not knocking what his foundation has done against malaria, but I believe he's said some very direct things about wanting lower birthrates in the global south.

  • Don't project your own depression onto others, and non-existent beings.

If you think existence "only exposes [living things] to harm" and nothing else, nothing even potentially good?

If you truly believe that, I've got no nice way to say this: You need therapy.

  • Just be careful. If a quest giver gives you a time limit, like a letter saying "get here in one month", they mean it. It's possible to silently fail the main quest this way, but it's also possible to get back into the main quest line via some other quest paths into it.

It's all fairly complicated. Thankfully failing doesn't stop you from exploring the world, interacting with NPCs, or doing other quests. You can always use the console to restart the main quest line quests when you're ready.

  • Fuckin pansy ass participation trophy snowflakes think they're too good for phrenology /s

  • Realistic Stich gets my hopes up for an absolutely never occuring remake where it's graphically and gorily demonstrated why he's one of the most wanted.

Just turn it into a dark and gritty movie with the officers showing up too late to more and more depraved scenes.

Disney's first unrated film, just silently released with no marketing. Put up on streaming for 24 hours and then gone, leaving the public wondering if it ever was real.

  • Lemmy doesn't show overall karma anywhere by default, and as far as I know, no communities are using automated moderation to prevent "low karma" accounts from posting.

Not saying it isn't, just that there'd be no point.

  • My wife and I used IVF, so our first picture of our daughter is a clump of cells (I think the term is blastocyst).

It looked like kind of potato shaped. She was dubbed our little spud by one of her uncles, and that stuck until maybe two months before birth.

  • Our elf ended up with an insanity that gave him a burning hatred of elves

    Uncle Ruckus?

  • Lol, clearly you haven't been shopping at budget places in the US. The competition is Land O Lakes, "I can't believe it's not butter", or store brand.

Where are you buying your butter, and what brand?

  • I've used it instead of maple syrup on pancakes while camping. I intended it to just end up as a shit joke at my own expense, fucking around for shits and giggles, but it was legitimately sweet enough to work. Which is honestly pretty disgusting.

  • Nice shitpost. Got me for a moment, then I remembered how math worked.
