  • This is stupid, yes.

But don’t let it distract you from the massive turncoat we just handed to Ukraine.

They are trying to flood the zone. They have learned to manipulate the 24 hour news cycle. Remember where our priorities are. Remember the country we aspire to be. Remember the fallen. Remember the heroes.

  • Not saying I disagree with your premise.

However, there are some strange brew rules that come into play depending on the #of reps in attendance in the house. You dwindle the dem #s enough and you end up allowing the reps the ability to run amok with the kinds of legislation they’re salivating to pass.

I’m sure this was at top of mind for some of the folks in attendance.

  • I mean, in a way he’s not wrong. The money gets funneled from all of us all the way to the top.

But the thing is, the money does get distributed - all of it. The Ponzi at the top is us again, stealing from it to pay for infrastructure or defense spending.

And that is fine because that type of scheme with a large moat is called insurance. And so long as we can continue to pay out distributions, it is solvent.

But it isn’t solvent, because premiums haven’t kept up with payouts and the payouts for the baby boomers are massive. And if we don’t take some kind of action (e.g. increased premiums, disqualification for the rich, increase the benefit age) then payouts will eventually need to decrease.

  • It’s commonly known in the insurance industry that when you have two many crooks in the kitchen, the establishment tends to go up in flames right before it is unable to pay the next insurance premium.

And then the crooks stupid enough to burn it down tend to go to prison.

  • Same as it ever was.

    • Until AI can do it, they need warm bodies to do their bidding.
    • Until AI can do it, they need warm bodies to fight their wars.
    • The dumber and more obedient, the better.

They want to rule, not participate. Same as it ever was.
