  • They do have bullets, all that is stopping the from using them is some wrapping that is "not to be opened".

There's a reason Switzerland has the highest rate of guns used for violent death in Europe. The fact that they have one of the lowest rate of violent deaths is unrelated.

  • Doesn't change that the bandwidth for Z-Wave is tiny, and it's a mesh, both of which means it's not well suited for large amounts of data, like high throughput sensors (of which power reporting is one example). I have four dozen wifi devices and really don't have any issues, I think it mostly gets a bad rep from people who a) use 2.4Ghz for other devices (I put only IoT on 2.4, everything else is on 5Ghz) b) use shitty home gamer access points instead of something decent like Ubiquity/Microtome/TP-Link etc.

  • You do know that Ho Chien (He Jian) was a fascist, and not a communist right? He was highly instrumental in the KMT's white terror and the formation of Taiwan. He kidnapped Mao's wife and children, tortured and murdered the former in front of the latter, before doing the same to the latter's wife.

  • The tagline since the mid/late 90s for NetBSD has been "it runs on everything, even a toaster", it used to be "it'll run on almost everything, except a toaster" and then someone showed up at a BSD con with a toaster casemod to run NetBSD.

    *I was wrong, it's since the mid 2005. Here's said toaster: https://laughingsquid.com/netbsd-toaster/
