  • Dude he was fighting the Kurds in Manbij and Efrin with Al-Nusra in like 2016. He founded Al-Nusra, an offshoot of Al-Quaeda, in 2012.

In January 2012, a group called Jabhat al-Nusra announced itself as al-Qaeda’s Syrian franchise, and the following month al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri called for Sunnis from around the region to join a jihad against the regime. Jabhat al-Nusra gained Syrian and foreign recruits as it scored greater battlefield successes than rival opposition groups.

In April 2013, a separate group formed from the remnants of al-Qaeda in Iraq that called itself the Islamic State of Iraq emerged and exceeded even Jabhat al-Nusra in its brutality

  • The Bay went out of business for a reason.

The reason is that the private equity firm that bought them, sold the land that they owned to another private equity firm and then forced them to pay exorbitant rent on land that they had owned for literally hundred+ years.

  • The most bizzare thing I've seen recently

Ben as always been pretty vocal about politics. So much so that Unilever divested/sold back Ben & Jerry's because they didn't want to be associated with him (good for them, and by them I mean Ben & Jerry).

  • You're completely missing the point. My issue isn't what Russian leaders did or didn't do. It's the selective outrage. Before outward criticism must come introspection. Otherwise you clearly don't actually care about these things happening.

  • You're getting downvoted but I highly doubt the commenter responded in such a way to the downing of Iranian Air Flight 655. The double standard in international law and selective outrage is a huge part of how these things continue to happen.

  • It's totally normal to use hose clamps in this situation. This a PVC to Cast Iron connection. That's the only way to do it.

The small clean-out is kinda fucking dumb though. And the big hose clamp looks like it's installed wrong. Can't possibly be tight enough and be at an angle like that.

  • The hot and cold inlet lines also, I've been told always fail eventually and that you should use the metal ones instead.

You're probably confusing Pex for CPVC. PEX is fine (even if I have a preference for copper I have to be real here).
