Nothing new, Stephen Miller uses fake outrage to dodge questions where the obvious answers are either because he's scared of everything or he's a white supremacist.
They are kept isolated and ignorant by class warfare under an undermined education system, geographically and social media algorithm bubbled, have severely limited economic prospects, exposed to childhood religious indoctrination, and have normalized extreme right wing propaganda.
They believe their small town and rural economic hardships aren't self inflicted due to lack of unions & solidarity under worker strikes & holding local politicians accountable, and take out their anger on other working class and poor people because they feel justified by their suffering to inflict suffering on their perceived perpetrators.
In pop culture references it's Megatron feeling justified to destroy all autobots because he was deceived by a wealthy autobot leader to slave in the energon mines.
Their aggressive stance against fact checking betrays their default position of bad faith & lack of empathy because they have been indoctrinated to the point of absolute unwavering certainly, similar to a cult. They abandon objective reality at all of our peril.
Thanks that's very insightful and I'll amend my position to 15 years 5 may be just a little zealous. 100 year US copyrights have been choking innovation due to things like Disney led trade group lobbyists, 15 years would be a huge boost to many creators being able to leverage more IPs and advancements being held in limbo unused or poorly used by corpo entities.
You don't have to stop selling when it becomes public domain, people sell books, movies, music, etc that are all in the public domain and people choose it over free versions all the time because of convenience, patroning arts, etc.
You don't have to stop selling when a book becomes public domain, publishers and authors sell public domain/commons books frequently, it's just you won't have a monopoly on the contents after the copyright expires.
Copyrights should have never been extended longer than 5 years in the first place, either remove draconian copyright laws or outlaw LLM style models using copyrighted material, corpos can't have both.
Maybe we should elect more people that have a working class background to actually represent us instead of someone whose career started by founding a boutique winery with a billionaire heir family friend. Just a thought.
There's really not much left to go back to. All the mods with integrity left when they effectively banned third party apps, top posts are almost entirely image or video posts recycled with time stamps/dates removed, and corporate owners are choking it by preventing organic changes via subreddits dying and being replaced over time because it doesn't get them more ad revenue in the short term like boosting controversial and rage bait topics.
Even if all morality is subjective or inter-subjective I have some very strong opinions about tabs vs spaces
