  • Those poor schmucks also have a voice and have political power. And you can't deny the optics of the Golden Gate Bridge being closed, it's an iconic throughway. I'm not sure if there are any instantly recognizable parking garages.

  • If OP wanted to learn more, there are tons of black people who have written books, articles, etc on racism and yes their lived experiences matter and should be listened to when talking about systemic oppression.

  • Sovereignity for Hawaii!!!

The United States colonized Hawaii on behalf of rich plantation owners. The United States has already acknowledged that the occupation was illegal. You don't need to fly across the world to have a good time, and fuck up someone else's home.

  • This is why Harvey Milk made everyone come out to their parents. It's unfortunate, but the only way some people are able to experience empathy is through directly knowing someone. Being out and proud is activism ... of course that doesn't come without risk.

  • Am I the only one who was never told off as lazy by my teachers? Even if I neglected to turn in homework regularly, I worked hard on projects and participated in class. I don't think I've ever asked a teacher to just let me pass if I didn't make the grade. I usually calculated out what my grade would be if I missed a certain number of assignments, and figured out what test scores I needed. When I didn't pass, maybe I lacked the gall or the privilege but it has never occured to me to ask a teacher to change something where the criteria was clearly spelled out from the start.
