  • Don't get me wrong I'm a Canadian lifer there's lots we don't do right but this here... I love our country. We aren't completely subverted to American policies.

That said now is when we should be shoring up those areas of our country that are at risk of American corruption.

  • My son asked me this yesterday. Japan.

  • Small nitpick. The ones in charge aren't dumb they're dangerous and they're feeding off a dumb segment of the population that has been conditioned for this through a steady diet of bullshit from social media.

  • For me I disassociate. I know the people around me by and large love and/or care for me and if shit hit the fan I'm fine.

The news is just entertainment. I love watching the news. I love politics. Sometimes it's surreal and scary but in no ways do I feel worried. I worry for those around me because they may not be able to protect themselves due to age or capacity but then that's why I'm there if required.

  • The amount of friends I have who are perfectly normal and sane people who are bringing up in casual conversations the hope for Trump to be assassinated is insanely high. I'm in Canada.

  • Id hate fuck the hell out of her just like Ann Coulter decades ago

  • He's always handled good under pressure. Is argue he was also the best we could have gotten during the pandemic and I'm saying this as someone who was equally happy with Ford during the pandemic and also happy with Ford during this tarriff bullshit. Ford can suck a massive bag of dicks but I can't hate him on his response for this.

  • Big up DemocracyNow. Every American should have them as one of their sources of news.

  • Ok evil aside people really need to commend them on their execution. This is a damn successful destruction of democracy

  • With proper infrastructure yes signatures are extremely secure. But that proper infrastructure doesn't exist.

  • How easy is it to fake a signature for a normal person who has not practiced a person's signature for the intent purpose of faking it? Have you ever tried faking your parents signature to get out of school? I have.

Now the infrastructure required to adequately check signatures is not practical hence it doesn't exist. It's why we moved to pins. Pins are small and 2fa doesn't exist for banks because again it's about the bare minimum and they are out to make money and don't care about customers plus there's government safeguards in place specific to banking.

I will continue to argue that going back in time signatures are infinitely more secure than a 4 digit pin let alone tap but we have traded security for convenience.

Anyways full admit that I'm batshit crazy.

  • I'll use banks as an example

If they cared about your security there would not be a mobile app or website.

Hell, credit cards would still require a signature.

It's about cost first and foremost and then convenience.

Has nothing about you as a consumer. They don't give 2 shits about you as a consumer.

  • Studies show the majority of Americans don't have a passport let alone have left their own state. 3rd world country.

  • Oh sweet summer child. If you think you can do better you're more than able to run for office then maybe you'll pull your head out your ass and realize it's not as simple as you think it all is.

  • Incremental change is happening whether you like it or not. History has shown the world is moving in a direction you don't like whether you like it or not. Things like interracial marriage aren't going anywhere regardless of how much your bigoted ass winges about it.

  • And after that I'm sure inter-racial marriage will be next. Fuck these people
