  • The sad thing? Because he “voluntarily” retired, I’m fairly certain this incapable moron will still get all his fucking shares and other benefits, as part of his contract.

He got paid $7mil last year, his shares etc are irrelevant unfortunately.

  • You’re forgetting there was a merger. Jobs that were necessary when there were 2 separate companies are now not necessary when there is only 1 merged company.

Also it seems a large number of layoffs were for:

    • blizzards survival game that was reportedly in development hell after 6 years of development
    • the physical games department because Xbox is going all digital
  • Virtue signalling isn’t worth that much.

It is to the companies that subscribe to the ESG/DEI stuff and want to virtue signal. It's also not just a once off headline, is it? Look at all the people like you going to bat for them, sticking up for the billion dollar company that's been making record profits by raising prices well above inflation for the last few years because they said some stuff has had "declining sales" - note they never said unprofitable anyway.

Honestly, do you think sales of that junk has been increasing?

It doesn't have to be increasing. It can be decreasing and still making them plenty of money.

  • Bud light is doing terribly. Just because the parent company is going well it doesn’t mean every product of theirs is 😂. Again - 20 years as americas number 1 beer……..Dylan mulvaney partnership…….loses number 1 spot immediately, hasn’t regained it. Market share dropped. Competitors market shares increased. Bud light was irrevocably damaged from that stunt.

The overwhelming outrage at Woolies at the moment shows that it was a stupid decision. They did it for the wrong reasons and they will feel the pushback in one way or another. Will it be as big as bud lights? Not a chance with our supermarket duopoly, but they will lose customers and the stunt won’t gain them any new ones.

  • They don’t care about making the site good or attracting a healthy community.

They never cared about the "healthy" part either, just "big". Reddit has been a cesspool for years and years and years, largely thanks to the moderators.

  • By 90% you mean 90% of the 15 people that saw the post and were using a client that could see and vote in the poll in the 8 minutes that they had it open, because that's seemingly what most subs I was on that did a poll did. The comments were always 90% filled with people saying they wanted the subs to be open, they don't care about the API changes, etc, yet the crybaby mods would say "YOU ALL VOTED FOR THIS!" while everyone is screaming "No we didn't, we weren't even asked!".
