  • So you're a party in power, you're clearly extremist, you send the police to raid the organization that's investigating your extremism and you steal all the evidence. Next year you win the elections.

And, so, apparently this is in the middle of Europe, not in Venezuela.

  • I wanna see those college graduates struggling with the bills. I know artists, PhD students, unqualified workers and else who have this problem to some degree. I don't know anyone with a college degree and 3+ years of private sector experience struggling. We can debate wth is with the stagnant real wages, but certainly nobody with a decent degree is struggling. Or only by choice.

What I know contrary is people with any IT related degree, or businessy degrees, or STEM grads going into consulting, etc. And all those people earning enough to support a family of 3 way before hitting their 30s, yet being single and enjoying that income all by themselves . They then pay insane rents in the cities, travel, go out for dinner every other night, maintain some random portfolio of ETFs, buy groceries at organic-only groceries, and so on.

So, yeah, wages been stuck for a looong while. But if you struggle to make the ends meet with a college degree it's on you.

  • Hi, yes, it's me here, I vote for trump.

Not really, I'm a troll, and otherwise there are fukin zero trump voters here. You also ban anyone even trying to say anything pro trump.

So save yourself your keyboard war. You're like a kid fighting with tall grass. Also, get the f out of the world news sub.

  • Languages

  • Esperanto's equivalent would probably be Haskell.

Python is probably more like Spanish. Very easy basics, but then people from different regions of where it's has spread out barely understand each other

  • Kamala has openly stated in the debate that she believes the only way is a two-state solution. Whether that's realistic or not, it's a pretty strong statement, and there's some hope on the horizon. Unless until she actually gets to do anything, da Joe will sleep through the conflict turning into the entire region being nuked to the ground by the IDF.

Fix your fuckin democracy already instead of posting trump bad memes on lemmy.

  • It's truly a world-news sub, cuz I was like "du-uh, where's the news?" until it hit me.

    • Far right has been on a steady rise
    • Refuges are gathered in concentration camps on Islands
    • Most recently everyone's fighting about who should get those refugees
    • There are within-the-eu border checks specifically targeting migrants

Tell me more about "sentiment". It's not sentiment, it's white/european supremacism being executed full force in plain daylight.

  • Turns out those are MRI machines, but they're at their regular price of 2mil per piece. 15 MRI machines is a lot. There are many hospitals even in the developed countries that can afford exactly one. And many that don't have one at all.

  • Victims?! You're using someone's infrastructure, very expensive programmer talent, countless content creators dedication; you're using all of it for free, and you're the victim when the other party tries to enforce a payment?

People like you is why communism will never become a reality.

  • YouTube has a transparent 70/30 revenue share model for creators.

Your entire premium subscription fee is split into 70 to creators and 30 to google.

The 70 are forwarded to the creators in proportion to the watch time.

in fact it's incorrect that "the more you watch, the more they earn". You can only watch two videos in one month and each of the creators will earn the respective 4$

  • They'll have to be taught a hard lesson. But realistically family was overly generous with a lot of folks essentially paying 2$/m for premium. You can definitely double this amount without many of them bothering to pirate.

  • unpopular opinion: you can pay for premium and use Vanced/ReVanced because you value hosting infrastructure provided, and you understand that most of your money goes to the creators not google. And yet you still want control over the UI.

And you know what. If everyone actually did that instead of using Vanced for adblocking, it maybe still would've been alive.

  • The unfortunate business model of the current tech world.

And the only way to teach them to drop this BS is to migrate to a better thing as soon as the enshitification starts.

I would've told you we shouldn't have fallen into this trap to begin with, but that implies cooperation of the entire internet. And that ain't happening.

On the other hand, we can accept that this is how things are. We get years of free trial and pay for it in the next years. 13$/month is not an insane amount of money for the value provided. And it's shared with creators in a transparent manner, so it's not like they're hording all of it either.

  • I never understood, and never will understand this.

Even when I was a poor teenager and pirated essentially everything I always knew that this content only exists because someone is paying for it.

How do people go around feeling like the best VoD platform to ever exist, available on every device imaginable, optimized for years by best software engineers the world has, should be free, and without ads is beyond me.
