  • I agree with this except for my admittedly radical opinion that anything you need to live should not be tied to work.

Food, clothes, shelter, healthcare. The bare minimum of those categories should be free. I’m talking like prison quality. You should not have to earn the right to live.

  • I’m imagining the original person that created that meme being like “I’m so unaffected by that dude’s trolling that I’m going to draw a meme to show people how little I’m thinking about it”.

  • Ok going through this now.

I never thought it’d be like this though. I thought that video game would literally stop being fun. Like I’d grow out of them or something and not find them enjoyable anymore.

But that’s not it. They are still fun and enjoyable. What I didn’t expect was that my mind would be so full of responsibilities that it would just be impossible to enjoy video games. As if there just isn’t enough room in my brain.

I’m sitting there trying to play but I’m just thinking about all the things I need to do tomorrow. Or this week. Or this month.

There is just too much to think about that I can no longer enjoy not thinking.

  • Yeah I bought a house 5 years ago and Zillow says it’s worth $100k more now. If I was looking for a home right now I couldn’t afford the one I’m living in. In the last 5 years I make $35k more than I did then but it still wouldn’t be enough to buy this house.

Back when I bought my house is was considered aggressive to offer their full asking price, which is what I did.

The whole system is beyond broken at this point.

  • Yeah the issue is that with large online communities, your largest user group is always going to be that of least engagement.

So users who just read stuff is your biggest group. Then comes users who made an account. Then comes users who up and downvote. And last comes users who post.

It makes it very hard to grow a new social media platform.

  • Yeah the very top post on hot right now has 9 comments lmao.

There is no one here. I mean I love the platform and the apps. I don’t go to Reddit anymore on my phone. But there’s no one here.

If I don’t go to Reddit at least once per day I’m going to miss news and events that are important to me.
