  • I've seen it like Michael pushing diversity training sessions onto the office (US) in the first season. Complete misunderstanding and absurd enthusiasm. I bet he would spend a night educating himself about gender and sexuality on the first resources found in google.

Listen, Dwight. Why would you put a sign saying MALE over your desk?

I insist on keeping it. We, Schruttes, are born Schruttes first, and everything else is out of our concern.

But why? Even Jim picked his new gender. Thrice this lunch, actually. Why don't you play into it to make our space more friendly for gendered people? Just for a day.

    But...

You've heard me. Go take a break, and return with a new gender of your choice!

Next scene: a table sign saying GENDER-CONFORMING AMAB DWIGHT KURT SCHRUTE

It a little bit better as a satiric sketch than it is as a boomer humor. Especially, if Michael gets ridiculed for this senselessness in the end, like it happens every time.

  • With the recently posted awkward 'concept' of a second Steam Deck and an influx of cool Deck-modding posts, what do you think it needs to look like in the next generation? What peripherals or whatever it needs to have?

And would it be better if Valve also licensed other companies to make more Proton-based handhelds using their R&D findings?

  • I doubt paypal would work this way in russia or other troubled countries tho. They've banned a couple of my friends without stating a reason for being under shithole states. Just crypto feels more reliable than that sort of pp-backed crypto.

  • The trick is not to say it outloud, otherwise you set a standard for others in the eyes of bosses and they'd think it should be paid less for the same amount of work. Those who can't adapt become less valued and you don't benefit that much from that either. When it's all about wage, it's better to free your time to work on your own projects or work half-time on remote before your higher ups know, or even some colleagues of a snitchy variety. That's what the lack of unions does.

  • I had family members die in GuLag for no reason. Some of my grand-gramps (supposedly) killed a fucker from the Poverty Comitee who weren't any better than wagnerites today. I mean, two can play this game at the same time, to guess who had it worse.

Why red faschism is that bad of a name? It's a veey different stray of ideas but it ultimately leads to the same level of poppulist and corrupt authoritarianism if left unchecked. Because it leaves any principles behind if they are inconvinient. What USSR shown, and what Pol Pot with his junta put onto display.

Almost the only big modern experiments in socialism happened in Makho's free state and Catalonia. Both were treacherously put down by soviets, with lies in Pravda suggesting the latter weren't really socialists to begin with. That, coming from a stalinist state in the late 1930s.

I lose any sense of a practical difference when I dig into their story. Yeah, no (vocal) praise for racial identity, unless we don't feel you jews or you tatars are complicit enough. No (vocal) praise for an idea of a superhuman, unless you take 'soviet men' identity replacing your own too seriously or ask about what happened to disabled people after the war, like in Valaam. No (vocal) definition of what genetically-determined classes are, but there's Gulag, inescapable serfdom in kolkhoz, exclusive shops for internal party apparatus, that is, surprisingly, filled with russians even in republics.

I was trying hard not to argue. I failed.

And no, Hitler wasn't happy about this monicker. Idk if any public speech of his after coming to power even had this word. He hated everything -socialist and probably wanted to distance himself from it.

  • He claimed to be one and was supported by the soviet union, as did some other braindead regimes. I don't doubt it was a red fascism or even tribalism. It's just concerning that killing off clever people kinda tracks with red-painted authorities.

  • Faschism is self-eating in it's nature, but it is still a tool of those who hope they'd die before it fails. We haven't got rid of it. It is practiced as we speak.

Communism had little chances to be proven wrong or right. In the end, communist rhetoric is one thing, communist praxis is another. And the latter was rarely even practiced, although proclaimed like it was. I believe it gets some points right and needs to be experimented with.

  • Trump wrote in all caps Friday afternoon

What a dumbass. Can't really read his tweets without hearing him losing it or having a stroke.

on Truth Social, which is run by a media company he co-owns.

Does it still work? What a surprise. Unpleasant one.

  • Other free services becoming for-profits and add-infested? Sync can set a trend others may follow. As they are first to do so, I'm surprised no one argues thst, as they may set up a degradation of every others' experience with this platform.
