  • borrowing from foreign lands is blocked.

So, no... There isn't. There's no source of capital to back new rubles, so it would devalue the ruble and drive inflation which is already 20+%.

  • Yes you did imply that.

To "push someone towards supporting Ukraine" implies that they are not currently and have not been supporting them. You can't move towards a position you currently hold.

You could have said "I hope it strengthens their support" or "...pushes them to continue supporting...". I reacted because there's lots of people in the US thinking Europe has done nothing and it's all been the US, which is straight Trump/Putin disinformation.

  • ...and Tesla is massively overgeared w.r.t. stock price relative to earnings. Companies normally have a valuation which is 5-40x their earnings. (NVDA 40x, AAPL 35x, GM 7x, Stellantis 6.5x)

Tesla is currently 138x, and they're down nearly a third this month. They were 200x at their last earnings call I think.

Tesla is a hypestock that will crash when the AI bubble bursts and self-driving dies as a concept.

  • I do hope that Trump is the galvanizing force that pushes the people of the EU (and perhaps others) towards Ukraine support, as well as everything else Trump and the right hate

Why do you think that the EU and others haven't been supporting Ukraine? They have.

  • European here. Sorry America, but you're going to have to step up and remove your corrupt leaders I think. And I'll be happy when you do.

I'm getting a bit pissed off with this type of message.

    1. We already have been leading. Funds and weapons have been relatively free flowing from European nations. Getting anything out of the US has been like pulling teeth even under Biden.
    2. We know a shit ton of burden has fallen on us because a nation we considered a friend has turned traitor. You're not telling us anything new.
    3. As a US citizen you can't wash your hands of the fact that your leadership is corrupt. "Oh, sorry!". They're your collective responsibility. You all put them there. Only you can replace them. Get off your arse and organise.
  • Can somebody explain something to me?

    • Trump was trying to position himself as a peace broker between Ukraine and Russia. He wasn't aligned with either side. He was "aligned with the world" in the pursuit of peace.
    • So what's the purpose of the minerals deal? Ukraine give the mining rights to the US and in return the US... does what? Act as a peace broker?

As soon as Trump distanced the US from Ukraine in that press gaggle, there was no reason for Zelensky to sign anything. If he was trading for US support then sure, but not for the US to be a neutral 3rd party.

  • I don't really understand this.

The subs are British and are commanded by Royal Navy Officers. They can launch autonomously as target sites autonomously as that's the whole point of the UKs deterent, to operate after first strike has occurred and all friendly infrastructure / command structure has been destroyed.

A RN officer will not take orders from a US officer, so how is Trident sub or weapon under control of the US?

  • Basically browsers are big because they are operating systems for web hosted applications with huge attack surfaces and lots of legacy compatibility requirements amassed over 3 decades.

A rewrite isn't the answer. Putting limits on browser functionality is. JavaScript was the turning point IMHO.

  • Mainly just a case of developing the design. If you know how to get performance out of a processor then the instruction set is largely secondary. However, a high performance processor is not a simple thing to design.

That's not to say the other factors you list aren't an issue. The latest manufacturing processes are only available from TSMC and all production slots are bought out by nVidia, AMD and Apple. Everybody else has to make do with older processes.

Adoption is probably the easiest one. Linux support for RISC-V is pretty good and recompiling software for it is pretty simple.
