  • I think with a lot of these chips geared at AI there's so much variation in how performance is measured you can say things like it beats an H100 inferencing on a specific INT4 model and that might be true. However, it might only hold for that narrow case.

So press releases aren't worth much to me. Show me benchmarks.

  • It's not stupidity. It's desperation.

It's very much an easy/west split in Germany, and the fact is the east is still feeling the effects of soviet control. What works for the richer west is not working in the same way in the east because the problems are different.

When you're hurting, more of the same isn't a rational option.

  • Whilst we're still fighting those that caused Brexit I think we need to be careful of introducing instability with "in again / out again" policy swings. I think we're best aiming at something which removes barriers but doesn't stir up the anti EU sentiment that still exists.

Alignment, deals, treaties, but not membership.

  • Prices can't go below the cost of production and transport.

A lot of goods are on quite small margins. When the tariffs are bigger than the margin the product becomes uneconomic to ship to the US. This is what you're seeing. There's less demand for shipping because companies have halted shipments to the US.
