Hmmm but what about all the image memes?

This reminds of the song Amerika from Rammstein.

Being able to host the same community over multiple servers would be great. Or having the same account on multiple servers. And I'm not talking about subscriptions but upvotes, posts, comments. That stuff is afaik not transferrable at the moment.

Right now I lost all my posts and comments when feddit.de went kaputt.

I am definitely on the hope side of things. Lemmy has extreme potential for growth. Just not explosive fast growth. I believe the strength of Lemmy could be "natural" growth as the threat of the platform going downhill is smaller.

Yea that can't hurt. It's just hard to do IMHO a lot of muscle memory.

Do you think Lemmy is big enough to attract that kind of attention? I would be genuinely surprised if it does.

My theory was that the content just floods over from other sources. Where there are bots / paid people. Anecdotally I've not seen the classic bots like you see on Twitter and Reddit here yet.

A few libraries come to mind immediately: fftw (I think the most widely used fft library) or GMP (I think the most used multi precision library).

The US has pretty good tap water in most places. Of course there are outliers we are talking about a giant country.

While you are right to trust most tap water in Europe we also have a lot of outliers. Old plumbing being probably the biggest problem. But also the taste can be atrocious. The worst tasting tap water I ever needed to drink was in Barcelona.

Edit: and the worst looking tap water I ever saw was in Paris. (It was old pipes or something as it was brown, almost red)

I watched it with my father. It was strange to see him also being deeply affected by it, not as if he would ever admit it.

It's a great movie though. It's so good at what it tries to archive that I also never want to see it again.

Yea spoilers are broken on lemmy. There is no real standard on how to interpret the markdown. That's why there are multiple flavors of spoilers that each work on a different set of apps / endpoints.

Of course it's a sport. Multiple sports even. It takes skill, training and effort to be good at shooting. There are many different shooting sports.

Of course just blindly firing a weapon is not a sport itself. Just as blindly kicking a ball is no sport.

Why do you think shooting is no sport?
