  • I feel like at that point you just invite them to dinner/massage/etc. Much better way to bond anyway. Plus if someone is rare to prioritize fun, a bunch of gift cards to random ass places like rpg quests is stressful for those on an already tight schedule.

Having a bunch of gift cards you know you HAVE to use is stressful!

  • I've heard that too, but employees can't override rejection of expired cards, so to use your rightfully owned cash, you have to fight with the company via online customer service and maybe even threaten to sue.

Because of that, even in countries and states where cards don't expire, they essentially do.

  • This is probably a hot take but I have the opinion that nature isn't any more merciful than we are. Existence is suffering and every animal ends up as feed for another.

Is it better to be raised in horrid conditions in a farm, or to spend every moment of your life scavenging for food, running for your life, while probably infested with parasites just to be torn to pieces, alive, by a wolf or other predator?

Humans at least have the decency to sedate or knock unconscious our food. Wild animals have to experience being eaten alive.

  • Yeah exactly, people arguing whether dragon fruit or some shit is a "super food". The super food is right in front of us, potatoes (and onions).

What other food has been so vital to our survival that its disappearance could ravage a population (Irish potato famine)

No offense to dragon fruit, blue berries or whatever exotic fruit, but if they went extinct, not that much could change.

  • Thats why I feel so bad for that poster recently that said ai was the only friend he had and liked. He never understood what a friendship is. They aren't just yes-men that approve of every single decision and beliefs. Their individuality and unique opinions keep your judgment clear and offer you different perspectives on matters.

  • I feel like instead of a giant push for veganism, there should just be a push to eat what's sustainable.

Beef and dairy? Causes huge amount of greenhouse gasses and with current methods of production, it is not sustainable

Blue fin tuna? These things have been way over fished and are endangered. Not sustainable, just try it once and move one with your life.

Tilapia ? These things grow like weeds and can be fed efficiently. Go ahead, good source of protein for your diet.

    Honey? We need bees and they are an important pollinator for crops. Go nuts (just watch your sugar intake}

Almonds? Takes huge amounts of water to grow and exacerbates droughts in the areas they are farmed. Eat less of these.

Potatoes? Grow stupid easily in all sorts of conditions. Go nuts.

  • Yeah I always personally hated the idea of locking posts. Let people wage their war, every party can disengage at any moment.

If anything discussed is illegal or borderline, just start banning those who break those rules.

If someone has a shitty opinion, people can learn from the replies as to why it's shitty. Every stupid comment has the potential to teach.

  • War dog. Something about a grizzled adrenaline junkie is cool, with the firepower to lay down some hate.

Shockwave. Something about a highly intelligent scientist and senior combatant is super cool.

It is a coincidence they are both tanks

  • Something else we should also be worried about is data leaks. Investments in consumer data security don't raise stock prices so it'll be underfunded by corps. Suddenly there will be huge breaches of consumer data accessible by everyone.

You can imagine all sorts of black mail attempts, not just by hackers, but ordinary people who know how to sparse the raw data.

You can have private "viewing habits" or edgy jokes you made sent to your company's HR and shit. Also of course now the government has access to all of this information. Can you imagine the government passing some draconian "stop terrorists, and also protect the kids" bill. They could start spying on or even prosecuting those reading material related to stuff like the anarchist's cookbook and similar.

At the end of the day, data that doesn't exist can't be leaked.
